Otaku Vengeance: Blue Stahli & Sword of the Stranger

Post by DarkXPower » Mon Dec 06, 2010 5:30 am

*Edit* Higher Quality 1280x720 video now available.

Well its been 14 months since I released an AMV, but I finally got some motivation last month and have now finished a new one...As with all my videos, the focus is action, and aside from fade ins/outs, there isn't a single white flash or special effect anywhere in the video.

Enjoy. :pizza:

Just finished watching.

Eric gives us an excellent example of how to make a well flowing action video without the use of excessive timing which plagues the majority of action videos today. Simple and sweet.

My only gripe would be that the short length of the video really left me wanting more. Other than that, it's a simple and solid action video.

Lovin' the title. :awesome:

This was pretty cool. c: I think it seemed just a bit too slow-paced, but then again I've seen nothing but fast-paced SotS AMVs. Iunno. *shrugs*

I don't know, I thought the pace fit the song's tempo perfectly.

Anyhoo, I really enjoyed this.

i guess now i owe it to you to watch this... bbl

edit: thought it was a bit slow, but at the same time i kinda liked that about it. i dont really know what to say because i haven't seen the anime so seeing it all slow like this was entertaining by itself... :dino: -useless-

There were a few more scenes I wanted to use, so I know how you feel. I felt the same about my Spriggan video, and in a way, that's why I decided to use Blue Stahli again. Using only 1 song just wasn't enough.

I must disagree, this AMV is anything but "slow"...but, this is the most common complaint I hear about every video I have ever released, so I am used to it and I don't take it negatively. However, I do think its a shame that so many people need a strobe light in their face, just to enjoy an AMV. Can you give me an example of a fast action AMV that you enjoy? :uhoh:

Fluxmeister made good strobing and fast paced videos... too bad he's not around the community anymore. :(

Honestly thats kind of insulting. I mean we only stated our opinions and you label us as people who like nothing but fast-paced AMVs?
I only say it seemed a bit slow because the song itself is slower than most SotS AMVs I've seen: the editing, as far as I'm concerned, was good for the song. Now this opinion of a slower pace could be good or bad, but as I was watching it, the vibe I was getting from it was that of, 'Does this fit SotS' constant pace?' I mean I guess its nice because its different from other SotS AMVs in terms of pacing (I've seen), but in my gut I just felt that this was too slow for the film. I'm not insulting your editing: you really couldn't have done any better than you did. I liked it! And don't get me wrong, I love me some Blue Stahli: but just, to me, it didn't fit the fast pace of the movie. Its nothing you could really improve upon, I was just offering my thoughts on this combination of footage and music.

But thats just my opinion.
