All Anime Characters Need Anger Management
Well, after a lengthy hiatus from AMVing, I am finally putting out one of my more worked on videos that I've been on and offing. I think this is probably going to be one of the best that I put out this year besides Heaven's Faith 2.
Even still, I enjoy feedback and crit that I get from all you guys. So please, let me know what you think for my first AMV in a while. I've changed my editing style up somewhat and I think it's become somewhat more fluid. Though I can't be sure without proper feedback. I'm actually kinda proud of this one and how it turned out.
Thanks again guys.

No comment on the canned transitions... but anyway it's a very entertaining video.

Yeah, the transitions could have used a little bit of work, but I just wanted to get this one done so I could finish up HF 2. I'm glad you found it entertaining though.Knowname wrote:No comment on the canned transitions... but anyway it's a very entertaining video.

0:11 was way to Happy-Anime-Gilr for the theme you had going, but the rest of it was pretty cool. I'm not a fan of the transitions either [Worked pretty well at 0:36 though], but it was a pretty cool action vid, nice sync and had a good mood to it after the lyrics started. Never seen this Dante's Inferno thing used in an amv before, so points for originality.
You know, you're the only editor I know that edits consistently with Higurashi...I'd like to see you branch out into other arcs too~

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the transitions for me were more of an aesthetic choice. I wanted to get used to using new effects and stuff and it kinda fell into place. The Dante's Inferno movie is really good. I bought and beat the game and saw the preview for the movie on the game and I was like "HELL YEAH! New editing material". What's weird is after becoming an editor, everything I watch I tend to watch from an editor's point of view and I wind up noticing things that I normally didn't before I became one. Like the movie Labrynth. I wound up watching it the other day for the first time in a long time and I thought.....I could do that effects ten times better. But, I digress.Hagaren Viper wrote:0:11 was way to Happy-Anime-Gilr for the theme you had going, but the rest of it was pretty cool. I'm glad you like the Higurashi editing. As for consistently, I'm not sure what you mean though. I just like editing with it and it turned out rather well in this AMV I thought.
I recommend watching Dante's Inferno. Even if you haven't played the game, it's pretty cool and has varying art styles.

Started out pretty good then it kind of died at the end... on the distorted voice part I wish you had put the lipsync there instead of putting it later...

By 'consistently' I mean that you edit with Higurashi pretty often...Offhand, I cant even think of anyone who uses it as well.TwilightChrono wrote:I'm glad you like the Higurashi editing. As to watching things from an editor's point of view, I know what you mean. "Why didn't they deinterlace that?!"

I see. Yeah. Funny how that stuff tends to work out after becoming an editor. you tend to notice things you never noticed before.Hagaren Viper wrote:By 'consistently' I mean that you edit with Higurashi pretty often...Offhand, I cant even think of anyone who uses it as well.TwilightChrono wrote:I'm glad you like the Higurashi editing. I'm glad you think I use the source well.
@Jadzzia:
Yeah, I was torn about whether I should lip sync at that part or not. In the end I felt it better to do it the way I did cuz I felt lip synching that part would be somewhat cliche and people would have seen it coming. So I went with a less conventional method of doing so.
