Now, as for this video here. I, uhh, didn't really like it that much. I'm kinda disappointed but I did let it get really hyped up, which is something I try not to do.

I know that, if I'd seen Escaflowne, I'd like this a lot more. What I saw were clips that looked pretty serious synced to a pretty upbeat song in humorous fashion. The humor was lost on me, though, because I haven't seen Escaflowne. Well, not quite lost because I did catch it, but I just couldn't appreciate it.

The editing was solid and it was decent lip sync, though it could have been better (if the body motion matched the tone inflection) because sometimes it just seemed really weak when it should've been strong. But other than that, the lip sync was right on. And I know you did say you sorta rushed finishing this, I don't remember the reason... something about the VCAs ending?

As for Merle (right?) being "ARROWED," that just didn't hit home. No pun intended. Maybe due to the fact that it looks like a spoiler and I hate those very much. So I saw that and got kinda pissed. Which, admittedly, is my own damn fault for ignoring that the the title was listed in blue. Bah. So it's not really a bad point, I just wanted to say that.

This could almost be a feel-good video... if only it didn't look so wrong.

So... I liked most of your other videos, but not this one.

And yeah *some* of the humor (the two or three scenes) would be more humorous if you'd have seen the show, but oh well.

Well again, this is my first attempt at lip-sync and I'll be the first to admit that I was very frustrated while creaitng it since it isn't my own idea. I have enough trouble trying to match my own visions/inspirations, but this was just damn near impossible, so in turn, I think it shows. Well maybe not since people seem to like it

As for rushing, well obviously the whole frustrated part adds to it since well...why do something you dislike and are in pain with (physically...my fingers and wrist still hurt from all the frame-by-frame AE masks), but yeah since the VCA's ended, I kinda wanted to finish it as a "thank you" present. Sounds cheesy, but it also correlated with me already rushing for the other reasons. Kind of funny that I say present since in reality it was a present of PAIN!!!111

I also wanted to release it now so people will forget about it come next January

Uhm...I don't know what to say because in saying it, it might be a spoiler again? Bah I'll say it, if you honestly think that scene is legit and she gets shot with an arrow (obviously not that sign), then AtomX sure did a hell of a job. The arrow looks pretty realistic, but the blood that POURS out was on purpose. That scene is entirely fabricated and all I did was luck out and find a scene of her falling down and a clip of Vaughn shooting an arrow (I'm teh genius!!1111). So yeah, no spoilers.

At the same time, I somewhat touched on this, but that entire "idea" came to me at 6 a.m. and *anything* is funny that late (early?) in the night. I honestly think that scene alone speaks volumes about how I felt about the video near the end. It was sort of a "FUCK IT! I wanna finish!" I did have a "feel good" scene at the end that was more coherent with the overall theme, but I copped out and went for the stupid funny ending so I could at least amuse some folks. I guess that's stupid of me, but again it was late. I by no means think it's "genius"

Well, as a first attempt I'm impressed. And frankly, it's good you got practice with it making a video you could never be attached to. So when you actually want to use this in a good video, you'll do it even better.

Ah, well, I didn't even see blood. I didn't look too closely at that part, to be perfectly honest. And I have only watched it twice, so I haven't picked out everything.

Anyway, I think, at the very least, it looks like you got a lot of practice with this video (After Effects and lip sync, maybe more). So, I'm going to expect a lot more from your next video.

That's actually the exact positive spin I'm trying to put on it. I learned After Effects, lip-sync, etc., so it wasn't a total loss.

And more importantly, the two people whom I made the bet with are quite happy with it and that was my only goal in the first place. Sort of felt obligated to make them happy

. So it's all good.
