Re: MEP - ATORI
I think you guys are kinda negative and overly-demanding of something that's obviously meant to expound the virtues of shiny stuff and perhaps demonstrate some Japanese music or something (the video is not bad, really, and there is some pretty nice editing in there - there's not much else there of course). On the other hand, there's been some interesting discussion here. Keep the tone in check and I don't see why the admins should go after it.
I just hope niwatori & co. are not discouraged. I mean c'mon, they obviously know how to edit and obviously put in some work into this for hobby. Let's not just mob and x2 Reda on this.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

That's not what Eva was talking about. It's just the fact that you were pretty much an asshole in your first post and didn't offer any constructive critism other than
.This really was just disgusting, unoriginal, and uncreative as hell; I really don't understand how you can comfortably take introductions from other animes and force them up with completely different sources, and ones that don't even come close tone wise either. I looked forward to "Appreciating each editors unique style" but there's nothing unique here at all; love the Project Relic rip off track too by the way. Disgusting.
You're allowed to not like it, just don't be a jerk about it and offer ways to make it better.

Indeed, I hate to say it, but it's a fucking amv. if you were literally "disgusted" by it, then frankly, you need to grow a pair.

Necokan - Track1 (0:11 - 0:43)
Mmm, quite interesting. Nothing standing out too much.
Niwatori - Track2 (0:44 - 1:35)
Very good lyric sync and movement. I think the lipflap was actually meant to be lipsync - try harder next time, it's the only thing you need to improve. Also I think one of the masks was kinda weird, but whatever.
tubest00 - Track3 (1:36 - 2:23)
No. Please, don't use effects, concentrate on the beat sync, mmmmyes?
Sekai - Track4 (2:23 - 2:48)
Interesting idea with heads/silhouettes. Kinda jaggy masking.
ryo - Track5 (2:49 - 3:22)
What was in this track again?
Kakuo - Track6 (3:23 - 3:58)
Your editing style shows again, as well as in the last Jap MEP. I think your AMVs have lots of potential. The masking was kinda stiff, but that's understandable with all those hair masks.
Kirin - Track7 (3:59 - 4:36)
The start was kinda weird, then it picked up. I approve.
Fav parts: niwatori's, Kirin's, Necokan's

Re: MEP - ATORI
Wasn't too impressed personally. The song mixes more than anything was what really made this jarring like a first time driver not knowing how to use a clutch. Basically the video as a whole failed to build on any kind of momentum and unfortunately that's what I usually expect from this type of video. It probably would have been better if the soundtracks were pre-mixed (not sure if this was done but it just felt like each person did their tracks and then when it was time to put together, they were all just cross faded together).
At the end of the day there were some good things, but mostly the inconsistencies and slight inadequacies here and there outweighed all that.

Re: MEP - ATORI
Visual Quality.
Sekai - Track4 (2:23 - 2:48)
悪かったじゃないけれども面白くない。
ryo - Track5 (2:49 - 3:22)
がっかりだった。僕はFSNがとても好き。だから、もうちょうとできたいしてたんだ。
Kakuo - Track6 (3:23 - 3:58)
Kakuo

This MEP is a joke; it's like everyone had ADD and just threw happy anime girls to whatever the fuck they wanted. If that's what you want to do with your AMV, fine. I respect your ability to make that aesthetic decision. But you will get shit for it even if I'm the only one in here barking about it. This is a disgrace, it's boring as holy fuck, and smacks of every other video I've seen and soon forgotten. The only reason I remember I even watched said horrible videos in the first place is because of the same generic "bad taste" they all leave in my mouth after another group of fuckwads decides to force a series of colorful anime girls down my throat by the truckload.

Re: MEP - ATORI
I understand where you're coming from, but it's just a matter of how you rip a video. Exact same anime + exact same effects + exact same style = a huge no no when it comes to ripping. The only thing that track was missing was X-Ray Dog. Being inspired to edit like your fav video is absolutely fine. Infact, it's what makes editing go round and round, but when it's too similar to another video to the point to where it seems like you didn't even try to throw your own creativity in it, then thats kinda crossing the limit. I'm not trying to start an argument, and again I agree with what you're saying, but I also have to agree with Matt on the ripping Project Relic part. It just seems like it came abit too close.Bauzi wrote:
The Ergo Proxy part:
Hey ignorants! I mean the hater guys here... Ever heard of designs? Popular designs? No? Than shut up. Nobody on a-m-v.org inventend a visual style. Nobody. Decoy was inspired by some wallpapers that followed the popular Tech-design for his Technic Beats (Naruto and Bleach). The only thing that might have been inventend on the org are Beowulf's (or was it Wonka again?) Piano Keys, but I would consider this not so much as a design.
There are other designs too like Grunge. You can find Grunge in videos like Spoil or Eve - The Perfect Human (yeah... self pimping ftw). Designs follow sources of inspiration and mix them together. In this part you can see quite obvious influences of the Ergo Proxy intro, techstyle, grunge and yes Project Relic. There are just some scenes were I say: Now they copied it. However all in all it just trys to follow up the principles of designs.
Okay... it often doesn't do the job too well, but it does. Decoy and -GfN- with Project Relic inventend nothing and only followed the principles of designs. Do you blame them? No? So please shut the fuck up if you don't know how designs work.
Let them enjoy the stuff they make.

Re: MEP - ATORI
Wow.........hmmmm. What to say.
I must say......that.......hmmmm....
Well.......I enjoyed some of it.
The first track is probably my favorite. As for that one track being a rip-off....to me, it didn't come off that way. Probably because I haven't seen the project that you guys seem to be talking about.
It's true that the quality is a little on the downside on some of the tracks, but I still enjoyed the AMV as a whole. The credits were really well done as well.
However.........I didn't like the Garden Of Sinners Track, because it looked too much...and I mean too much like mine and Inan's Collab. Not to mention, I believe that, this track had the most problems when it came to quality.
Overall..........2.5/5
