Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

That's because it's likely Renewal had hella post-processing on it.

Well, it's not without charm of it's own. It's a much different feeling, watching this right after the series. It's so bleak and unpolished that it comes across as being closer to reality, somehow.

On import? Has to be import, because the US company that released Platinum still doesn't have the rights to the movies.

Manga Corp has the rights to EoE, and has released it.

I must be misremembering something then. :? Just to put an end to the OT-ness, what's the reason the US hasn't got EoE Renewal?

Money. Licensing costs. Manga's indecisiveness.

But all of this is pretty pointless.

How about an on-topic comment.

Nice remaster.

Not sure wether this is redundant, but I'm going back and making a third EoE segment (first one was the DVDrip, then the download, and now it's 640x352 ie without crops and stretches.) I'd like to remove the black parts on the left and right too, assuming this won't impair the format or something.

Then I'm gonna use that 16:9 letterboxed part with the rest of the video being squeezed to 640x480 with 30 pixels cropped off the sides (or something to that effect).
Actually, looking at screenshots of the show, it appears that a squeeze isn't fucking up the intended look of the show, but actually coming closer to the way it SHOULD look. I get the feeling that was what y'all were trying to tell me earlier =)

(Wish I could edit posts.)

BTW, the one that I have now has a height of 415 at EoE, and is cropped already. If I just used that when doing the squeeze, maybe it'll be fine.

I mean, now that I'm letterboxing the download, there's some black on the right that really should be removed, but then I'd stretch it. Or go above 352. Or does this black crap serve some kind of purpose for this downloadable AMV?
