I'm pleased with the mixed results I've been getting, and thanks to everyone for watching!

Thanks MD

thanks

The flash overlays was something I debated doing for a while. In the end I did it because I don't see enough other amv's use it
I understand what you mean regarding the overlays later on. Changing the AR in the second half was a last minute decision [with letterboxes], so I guess I didn't realize how that would look when blended together. Still, it's good to know it's a 'brilliant action video" ;P
Regarding the personal bias towards the music and anime, that is totally understandable
maybe you'll like my Akross entry with Infected Mushroom and Kara no Kyoukai [just thought I'd throw that out there...].
I apologize for maybe over-reacting.

But don't worry, the OVA wasn't that great
...it makes for good action footage though.
Glad you liked it^^

Regarding how the video revolves around the same fight & scenario... it's supposed to get exhaustive to set up some release in the second half. So I don't know how well that worked. Thanks for watching^^
this is exactly what I wanted to happen XD
thanks guy
Yeah, I'm assuming a lot of people missed that too @_@. Anyways, it was really great meeting you guys on Friday. That was the first time I'd met other editors together like that^^
THE ALBERTA REGION IS GOING TO DOMINATE THE AMV SCENE!!!

again,
Thanks to everyone who has watched the video so far^^

Glad to hear this; cleaning the footage was a pain in some placesZenkia wrote:=]. I enjoyed this short video alot. visual quality was good and i liked the flow. 4/5 -=D.

Thanks for checking it outWarheart wrote:Yeah. This was a nice punch in the face. I must say that some of the random flash overlays were a bit to much and the lord hypnos part looked quite odd due to the overlays of scenes with a different AR or you just letterboxed it; either way it looked odd (like at 2:41). But all together a brilliant action video.

The flash overlays was something I debated doing for a while. In the end I did it because I don't see enough other amv's use it

On a semi-serious note, can you please check that you watched the whole video... because for this particular amv, that's very important... but aside from that, I'm almost glad you said this. I agree with most of the things you've pointed out. Because when editing, there were parts that I knew I could edit better, but ultimately decided I wouldn't. There's a couple reasons for this. Lack of footage was an issue since the OVA is barely 45min long... so the good scenes ran out pretty fast. So anyways, there's probably all sorts of other stuff I could say, but when it comes down to it, I didn't want to make something spectacular in the first place. And stress over how tight the video is; sure it could be more dynamic, and in your face. A couple cross-fades here and there... of course I'm going to allow, because I've been down this road before when I made Awakened and Shout!... so really, I just didn't want to do that again. It would take too long, but at the end of the day, the core of the video still does everything I want it to do. So there are times when I just have to say it is good enough... and I'm sure that has happened to you as well.Ingow wrote:any feedback? ok then. not in your face enough, not dynamic enough, too many crossfades and the action seemed to revolve around the same fight & the same scenario all the time
3.5/10
this is a biased opinion though because I've grown out of enjoying the music of those bands and I never could find anything appealing in the animation style of street fighter alpha generations.

Yeah, the audio editing is something I'm very pleased withDayWalker B. wrote:I liked the transition between the songs and the way you faded it out. Good job.

I just want to re-iterate what I said above about making it to the end of the video, but I totally know what you mean, mostly because of lack of footage.ScorpionP wrote:That's what bothered me the most about this video, but still, I was able to enjoy it. I'll just add that I liked the way it started but as the video progressed it became weaker and weaker. Not bad overall though.Ingow wrote:too many crossfades and the action seemed to revolve around the same fight & the same scenario all the time

Great energy. I thought it was over when the music stopped hehehe so I watched it a second time. For the most part I really liked the clips you chose. They fit very well.

indeedScott Green wrote:just epic.

Yeah, I was thinking of using some of the other fight scenes, but they didn't really have a place in the concept of the video, so I had to focus more on making the video exhausting to set things up for later on. Glad you liked it!Fizziks wrote:This video could have used more variety in the type of fight scenes, but overall, I still thought this was a good action AMV.
