Not only the idea of the 3d parts, but also every other aspect of the opening is taken. I do like watching M@Ds, but rather for the creative part than the technical. Take the stuff that Nagisa Hitomi (my favorite Editor btw) made as an example. Coming up with ideas to create vids like
Memory or
Strangeness from scratches is really awesome imo. Just making a copy of those vids would be cool, but not really impressive.
Technical yer vid is decent executed with some small flaws. But looking at the creative aspects it's just you making a 1:1 copy of some already existing vid with just some other CG. I think you also mentioned that this would be just a demo vid to test stuff, so yeah, your intention was to make a copy of the style and you did a pretty good job there ;p
But hey, I'm really looking forward to yer next M@D you will create using own ideas.

Very, very neat execution. And for the first try doing amv from still images it looks really good ^^, not to mention the 3d elements You made yourself.
