This is actually the only full-length Jin-Roh video I've really enjoyed. Great job!


Though, I haven't seen many since it's not an overused source. (And since apparently, the basis for understanding whether or not something is overused is your join date, I win since I've been around the longest. Problem solved! \o/)

Why? How it concerns a theme "overused source"? JinRoh-vids differ nothing from each other. All of them about war or similar themes. Because of monotony of the maintenance of clips any source becomes "overused". The quantity is the minor factor.
In this vid created a good atmosphere of tension. It allocates this vid among other JinRoh-vids a little. Therefore I have written "not bad for overused source". If vid was as usually about war or about something similar, I would write "one more JinRoh-vid".
If you use "overused" source, it is necessary to do very original video.

I think you are confusing the terms here ^^;;

We have two factors here:

- overusage (quantity is the MAJOR factor for overusage)
- originality (using the source in a new and creative way)

and they aren't connected, thus you can get one of the following:

- unoriginal video using overused source (Linkin Park/Naruto/DBZ vid not bringing anything new)
- 1 anime, 10 000 videos, all about the same thing
- unoriginal video using not overused source (Jin-Roh about war, sappy romance from some less known romance anime)
- 1 anime, 5 videos, all about the same thing
- original video using not overused source (in a way the video we speak about, as I read from your post)
- 1 anime, 5 videos, every of them original (or at least the one you are doing)
- original video using overused source (very original idea with bleach or Bebop (maybe using Vocaloids in it? :> ))
- 1 anime, 10 000 videos about different stuff and you still manage to think of something new

Of course, it's always easier making unoriginal video to overused source and original to not overused, but it's not always the case.

Elfen Lied - bloody video
Jin Roh - action, video about war
Evangelion - video about robots
Code Geass - action, video about robots
Kara no Kyoukai - action
Bakemonogatari - random cutting of beautiful scenes
Ef - random cutting of beautiful scenes, standard romantic video
5 Centimeters per Second - random cutting of beautiful scenes, standard romantic video

and many others.
