I'm sorry that you saw it as a waste of their music (and inevitably time?). I'll try to keep your suggestions in mind for future reference.Emong wrote: EDIT:
Plah, that wasn't too exciting an experience..
First of all, try to sync to something. This desperately needed it. There were only hints of some kind of lyrical sync, but that's pretty much it.. Your clip-selection had some potential though. This deffinitely looks like a pure character profile and it may serve its purposes for the written lyrics, but there was a horrible disconnection between the clips and the song :/
2/5 That was a waste of A Perfect Circle's emotional music

oic...some of my favoutite "old school" vids were made on WMM...Naotaku wrote:I downloaded this just because nobody else probably will...
People HATE WMVs, WMM, Windows, Microsoft, Streaming Sites, The Internet, etc.
I believe this has been mentioned many times... but I'll paraphrase for your benefit
WMM is a limited program but in the hands of a good editor can make some great AMV's... we are aware that there is nothing wrong with the WMV container and some schmick visual quality can be squeezed outta this puppy in the right hands (and with a lil' avs luving).
WMM is the weapon of choice for many new editors and also for those who can't afford/run a different program hence the reputation for crap comming out of it... yes 90% of vids made with it are crap... but I also think that 90% of all vids are crap anyway regardless of the program used in their creation.
In summary a masterpiece made in WMM will be recognised as such... but those times seem to be behind us
@ shafted_ artist you need to feel where to scene change and the beat and flow of the song, a different editing program can't help you with that it's just a learning experience.
1 Naruto video doesn't make someone a narutard... it's being an idot in general and using things like Naruto, DBZ, Bleach constantly that gets you the label.
bah wry am i bothering with this

I would have liked to see the first version, instead of this one popped out in a week.shafted_artist wrote:started this project back in April. Last week I decided to trash what I originally had (almost half a video) to start anew. I'm very happy with the finished product.

No, not by any means. I was just saying don't down yourself because of your editing machine. Just work harder.shafted_artist wrote:I'm sure it wasn't a personal attackNerdStrudel wrote:He wasn't saying you were any good. he was saying in general..
As for your AMV...
Yeah, I echo everything said above, and add that SYNC is the heart of all AMV's. So let's get NSYNC. (Get it? In Sync? Hahahaaa... God, I need a life. )

Mm, I know it's a learning process. As such, I'm working on learning; the only way you can really do that is from experience. As it's only my second attempt at creating some AMV related I know there's bound to be hiccups.Autraya wrote:

It doesn't help much when your source of material is limited and you lack a proper program (though as you said, so long as you have skill, this sould not be too much of an issue).
I'm quite aware of that. While Naruto may be my current anime of choice in regards to AMVs, it is certainly not the only one I am interested in.
Bothering in explaining/critiquing? Maybe you're bored? ;)

If you think my skills are sub-par now you really wouldn't have ;-p. I should have phrased my timeframe better. While I finished this AMV this week, I had the other one for reference. I wanted to keep the things I liked and see where I could refine things that... well, needed to be refined. It had been an on again/off again process. The Origonal Head Hunter wrote:I would have liked to see the first version, instead of this one popped out in a week.shafted_artist wrote:started this project back in April. Again, perhaps bad phrasing. While Naruto is quite bountiful in source material, I, personally, was lacking it it.The Origonal Head Hunter wrote:you made a Naruto AMV and are blaming this on lack of material?shafted_artist wrote: It doesn't help much when your source of material is limitedVery few series beat out Naruto in number of episodes.
