  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Awesome character profile you have here, Jasper. Like SenshiMamoru said, it's cool seeing a different kind of Kaleido Star vid like this. Very good stuff indeed. :D

That's what I'd say

Well, you know what I think about the video, or about your editing for that matter :P
It's been pretty exciting to watch it develop slowly (though not as slowly as your videos usually do); I really like the slower parts and the simple but nuanced 'action' editing.
By no means a mind-blowing concept video or even an ultra-editing-technique thing, but it's really well-arranged and is easy to re-watch. I probably re-watch it more often than I should, especially considering I hardly know the anime or character in question.

PS - post #10,000. yey.

I've been wanting to see a video to this song, so kudos on that :) It does indeed feel quite different from most other Kaleidostar videos, and in a good way. I liked it ^o^ Good work.

A most enjoyable video. First I felt all "Ugh...another Kaleido Star video...." then it picked up, and I kept watching and was pleasantly surprised. One of my favorites of the rash of videos to be released lately.

Edit: Change that to THE favorite of the videos released lately. :D

Replying time!

Schweet, thanks. I guess I tried to go for a more "mature" feel. (It does help that this is a Layla video, does it not? :P)

Anyway, good work taking advantage of your no-work week. Haha...aww I feel like editing now. Stupid stupid work.

Haha, except now that I've forfeited a head start on all this work, I'm kinda screwed for the next two-three weeks. :uhoh:
You should definitely resurrect one of your projects. I vote for the Transporter one! We never did a collaboration in 2006 either... hmm...

(Bakadeshi's got it right...)

That would be awesome... but unlikely. :(
Nunchuck wrote:Nice Amv!! I am not really into this anime, but you did a pretty well job in keeping me watching till the end of your amv. Thus, it must have been worth my time^^ good job
Glad you liked it despite the show!

angelx03 wrote:The one thing I would nitpick is that at some parts of the video I sort of expected harder image changes once the chords get hit similar to the ones you did during the first time that chord was hit (of course that may prove to be somewhat difficult considering the availability of the Layla scenes). Other then that, you definitely have a knack on flow and subtle timing especially when the harp gets played; that was nice!
Footage availability wasn't really the issue. I could've just exaggerated my editing more to emphasize those chords. The problem is that her vocals are often just as strong as the chords, and the hard-hitting words don't always coincide with the beats. (Her lyrics are sometimes rather syncopated in relation to the main rhythm.) I compensated for this by deemphasizing some of those chords. In the end, I guess the amount of synchage you perceive might depend on how high you have the bass turned up on your system. xD
Thanks for your comment on the harp though. I really had to look for (and sometimes, fudge) scenes to go with that.

Thanks! I actually didn't mean for the releases to coincide... for some reason I'd thought that the other video had been announced a day before. Oh well, The more the merrier, eh?
Bakadeshi wrote:fine, release this when I'm not around the PC why don't ya ;p
Bah, you're always away anyway! (Whoa, that's a lot of way's.)
Thanks for betaing though, that one time I did manage to corner you. :P

Good thing I had somebody else excited about this video besides myself, or it probably would still be sitting half-finished right now. :)

Thanks, it's always nice to hear good words from another fan of the song. Actually, I'm kinda surprised that not many videos have used it. (And that "Hide and Seek" turned up even fewer results… could've sworn that that song was more well-known.)

Awesome! Haha actually… at one point I was even considering dropping you a random PM to ask if you could beta it, since you seem to be good at these upbeat+kickass women type videos. :P

As if all these other good KS amvs didn't convince you already, yeesh! :P
