Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I have seen videos that I had a blast watching and had great editing in it, then later found out it took like.. 6 hours. Then I've at times saw a video and thought it was soo shitty, then latter found out it took 6 months. So your theory strikes me as, shitty. I can even gather good specs that show a lot of well known editors have made something that is well received and even won awards at cons, yet were made in the course of 2 days or less. So.. yeah.

Yeah, I think that's about it. :\

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind once I make my next 2 day video since I'm known to do all my videos in a very short period of time.

wtf dude i didn't know you were into Portishead...
Well I didn´t know the band and the song at all, but it is easy to imagine a good amv with it. ^^'

I think someone should give the amv the time it needs. Crack the sKy makes awesome amvs for spending not many days, weeks or hours for his amvs, but overall: The more you concentrate and spend time on an amv the more should (as said: should or could) it get better.

Another big point is beta testing.
It happens quite often that you don´t see ridicolous and bad things in your amv. Testers can give you a better idea how it could look like or wich scences and things could look much better.

Man this is a great forum. Not like other ones with all ego fat heads and stupids annoying trolls posting. More adult in here.

Thanks again for the replies. You make good points Ingow. I never even thought about playing with the contrast or brightness for the entire clip. Obvious maybe playing with the levels and channels could have helped the mood better. Oh BTW I am using Premiere 6.5 not that crap WMM. I began using WMM and after 5 min I got fustrated I couldn't do anything like extra video overlapping and audio.

I just saw another AMV on this site and I totally feel the idea of me having a lot to learn sinking in big time. Like most things, I will not be a good AMV creator from the starting gate. I have been checking some other AMV creators that have been more than a year and they all started the same.

Well I will lay Naurto + Portishead to rest now and concetrate on other projects. It was my first one so I will just take what I can learn from it and apply to the next one.

Thanks, I am indebted to you all...

Sorry if I was being a bit mean there. I was just trying to make a point that what you said is not always the case.

I'll probably check out the vid latter and then update this post.
