Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

you make a good point, but when you're going for a large bandwidth consumption, every download counts too

Jace Tsunami wrote:If you like the program, that's all good and fine, but like I said and you probably know, you can compress into a .zip file with winrar. That's all I was ever saying in the first place, cuz that's the reason i didn't download it, no need for two programs.

And BTW, I have a 1.8ghz processor, used to have a 1. I also have a ton of ram, stuff adds up. the "a penny saved is a penny earned" thing is kinda the same logic here. No need to have something you don't really need, every program hurts a little....
Well, don't flame, just try Windows Commander (nowadays called Total Commander), from www.ghisler.com. It's like the good 'ol Norton Commander times ago. Plus it opens zips, rars, tars, pk3 (well they are zip), isos, gzs, uhz, and just about everything you can think of.
Or you could just install WinRAR, and stop complaining about who another little tools makes your computer crappy. It opens both rar and zip files!

Oh yeah, and I am downloading Tainted Donuts right now, with stylish 35k per second. Oh how long I have waited for a download to this video...

Peace out,

sigh...okay...let's read more carefully then...and see what I missed...
Jace Tsunami wrote:a winrar file..... :?
Ah he is indeed refering to Winrar so I got that right, good.
Jace Tsunami wrote:Common dude, not many people have that program, and seeing as how you appearently do, you didn't have to make a .rar file, winrar will also compress anything into a .zip file.
Not many people have it. Agreed. But as I said, it is easy enough to get.
Jace Tsunami wrote:I didn't download it for that reason alone under the fact I've seen it before, because I don't feel like installing another tedious program.
Refering to the above reason alone, i.e., not many people have it, he didn't install it. However, he has installed it before, but found it to be tedious, which means he found the program to be boring, though no reasons are given as to why this is so. Ah, I see my mistake, he was not bored by the download but rather the program itself.
Jace Tsunami wrote:You'll up downloads if you convert that file to a .zip
This is a possibility, but I still doubt many people will care all that much.

Now then, you came back and grouch at me that I didn't read your message. After breaking it down I indeed came back with a slightly different meaning, but the reasons for your argument were still unclear.
You found the program tedious, tedious means boring, which is a rather vague description of an decompression tool. You did not bother to state that you did not want a program on your computer that you felt made it run slower. If you had simply said that instead of limiting your argument the the use of one word: tedious, I probably would have nodded and allowed you to have your reasons for not liking the downloads being available as RAR files. Your rebuttal, as hostile as it comes across, makes more sense, and does a better job of describing your opinion on winrar as a compression/uncompression tool. And now that you've taken some time to clarify your position I won't argue with it, it makes sense from your perspective and I'll leave it at that.

I'm not complaining, I'm explaining myself because people keep asking why, which was really unnecisary from the begining. And as you appearently read my opinion on extra programs, I already have winzip, I only need one. Maybe there will be a day when it's dire for me to uncompress a .rar file, but until then I've already seen tainted donuts and don't need to install a second program just to see it again.

tedious doesn't just mean boring. It means a waste of time and also near pointless. I consider it a waste of time to download an entire program just to see soemthing I've already seen before, and it's breaching pointless to have that program since it is only one file. The vague description of tedious shouldn't come accross as boring, but as not wroth while and a waste of time.
