Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Video Editing Nuggets

Post by poolfan » Tue May 01, 2007 2:58 am

It is as the profile says: a video i made for showing (specificially) my students some of the basic effects/techniques that premiere or any other basic editing software can offer. However, being unsatisfied with the completed video, i completely remastered it. So it isn't as bad as the vid profile suggests (almost.maybe.perhaps) =)

For the technical gurus out there, please remember this vid is primary meant for people who have not edited before and i wanted to fufill the dual purpose of informing and entertaining while making sure it doesn't completely suck.

It was OK for an educational purpose, if we're talking about the very basics here. The lower bar could have been a little smaller and the english text more appropriate, but otherwise I didn't see anything else to point out. One can consider though, if a combination of Naruto and j-pop is really the best thing to show to newcommers.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess the bar can be made smaller Initially i thought i had a lot to say but only to realise later on, my technical knowledge in this area is really limited. I know how to create the effects but don't know what they are called or what else could be added to help the newcomers.
