Well I finally finished my Basilisk vid, about my two favorite characters in the series, Yashamaru and Saemon and the story that surrounds them both, there's more info on it on the title page.

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with this video, it sucks that most of my clips though are in NIGHT and thus don't look as good as the DAY scenes did. Damn Basilisk for being so dark.

Anyway, check it out if you like Basilisk or whatever, and any comments are welcome.

Hmm, I'd say my main two complaints are quality (though this is forgivable due to the circumstance mentioned in vid profile) and at the end, the sound just cuts out (and with a very minor pop too...). Probably would've been better if you just had it fade completely away.

Otherwise I thought it was pretty well done.

I only had to watch the first 13 episodes for this vid :p and the song was short.

I appreciate your comments ^_^. I totally agree with the audio though that's the actual audio, I wish it did fade...but if I had it fade it would have cut it even shorter....

I really enjoy all these "minor" character profiles you do, so I can't say I didn't enjoy this one either.

I gave it a 4/5, nice job.
Props for using an Apocalyptica song too that has yet to be used here.

Well,I'll give it a 3/5 man.Sorry for this feedback but this amv has some flaws.
First of all,you'd better avoid using fades in from white with this type of songs because it hits a lot.You have a dark atmosphere and it's a drama video so use fades in from black.So,the use of fades in 0:52 and 0:58 were bad while around the 2:00 these were better.
Furthermore,you missed a quick scene in 0:24 while they are hugging.Or did you do it on purpose?
And for the beginning,it would be better to use the general scene of struggling and not the scenes with only its face.That's my personal opinion,I found it ugly.

However,the editing was solid and the synch except for the points mentioned was quite good.

Thanks for feedback. I agree the white flashes felt out of place, but the part where he gets biten by the snake, there is no actual "impact" in the anime, so I had to use the white to SHOW something happened. I liked the other flashes in there though, they were in the faded color and flashes, usually I try to mean "character thought, past tense" so it was Saemon thinking about "So this is that guy's face I took's girlfriend" sort of thing, and it shows the real Yashamaru left out dead, since that's where Saemon and Gyoubu left him. Kinda hard to catch without seeing the episode.

And the beginning, it was just Yashamaru being strangled by Gyoubu's massive arm and then of him breaking his neck, I wanted to show more of his scream and agony on his face, like he's yelling out at that moment while Hotarubi knows something has happened.

As for the 0:24, they don't hug, more like she goes to lean on him and he disappears, signifying that she realizes that he's gone. So yeah it was on purpose, and it's really how the actual part plays out.
