"War's Youngest Victims/soldiers"

Post by Denkyufan » Fri Sep 15, 2006 7:12 pm

I created my 2nd AMV and it's of the anime "Now and Then; Here and There".
It's done to the tune of "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath.

That being said, since it's "Now and Then; Here and There" it is clips from the last 2 episodes so it contains spoilers and some violent action (a little blood).

I read when I tried to upload this that violent video's aren't acceptable but I don't really consider this to be TOO violent. Although if it is and I'm banned as a result it was nice knowing you all LOL.

I left the subtitles in cause I think they added to the story of the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XKHjYrC3BI is the link for the video, can't believe I forgot it in my original post.

I was gonna upload this but I didn't want to break the site rules.

Check with the mods, but I highly doubt Now and Then, Here and There would be considered too gory for hosting on the Donut.

I uploaded it and I know I'm gonna catch flak for this video but oh well.

(One major improvement I need to work on is getting a conversion program so I can finally convert .mkv to avi so I can work with it. :( Then I can make a lot of video's using my impressive DVD collection)

VirtualDubMod should be able to convert MKV to AVI fine, but why would you be converting DVD footage to MKV anyway?

(More technical guides, including DVD-ripping advice, in the Guides section.)

I tried Ulead and it won't let me edit footage from my DVD. A friend of mine told me that .mkv is the type of file used for DVD's. If I can get the footage from my DVD's to .avi or something else workable I'd be set.

... Your friend is seriously, seriously misinformed.

If you pop in a DVD and check the files on it, you'll see that all the big, important ones are of type .VOB - that's for Video OBject. The video content is in MPEG-2 streams in those .VOB files.

MKV, on the other hand, is an open-source container format that can support all sorts of video codecs, multiple audio streams, subtitle streams, etc., but hasn't found much mainstream acceptance yet. If you have .MKV files on your computer and you didn't encode them yourself, that usually means they're fansubs (or recompressed DVD rips).

Look here for easy instructions on how to rip your DVDs.
