Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Post by wufei74 » Thu Jan 12, 2006 7:49 pm

Hey, I'm still new to the AMV scene, but I finished this AMV up last night and I figured I'd ask for some constructive criticism. Feel free to unload all your thoughts on me :D

p.s. = its in a .rar, i don't know if thats normal, but it's not a virus or anything

Did you try... er... reducing the resolution, or something like that, to save space? And did you remember to compress your audio?

By the way, you can't put a .RAR archive on local, but I believe the indirect link you have now is fine...

well, I really didn't want to reduce space because bandwidth isn't THAT big of a problem, and I wanted to retain quality. But next when I actually don't have a host anymore, I will.

Seriously, I'm just wondering what you guys think of the AMV. I don't care if it's good or bad, I just want an opinion and how I can improve. I've shown it to a lot of friends in real life, and they all think it's excellent. But I want to know someone who's watched a *lot* of AMVs, and who's possibly watched AMSA.

Look, basically all I want is an opinion. If you think my AMV was the worst you've ever seen, tell me. I just need to know how I can better myself as a video editor.

Tonight, I had a premier of my AMV to a few close friends and their relatives(just a party, i'm pretty drunk) and I got offered a job to help a friend with his music video. He owns club mardi gras (www.mardigrasokc.com) and he really wants me to help him after watching my video. He gave me his opinion(which was basically you've got potential) and either way, I know i'm going to go somewhere, even if I'm not the greatest video editor.

Anyways, that's my story, I'll talk to you guys later.

Love,

downloading......downloading....

I <3 Abeno so I'll give it a go ^^

okay, first off, the .rar thing is reaaallly annoying. It takes almost 4 minutes to unpack on my computer.

The quality of the video could be better for the filesize. The scanlines are really annoying. I think there'sa tut here on the org on how to get rid of them.

The song was a very good choice but the timing and choice clips were lacking. The track had such a nice beat that you really didn't play with at all. ^^;
