• Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
 • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
 • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

My Elastic Launch

Second video, this time to "Royal Space Force" (AKA: "Wings of Honneamise" AKA" "Wings of Honey-Mayonnaise").
Musical choice for this was the Chemical Brother’s “My Elastic Eye”, which I have always loved. (To the point that where I was almost irritated to hear it in the “Butterfly Effect”. It had been suggested to do a video to that awful “Time Machine” remake, but I thought that launching a guy into the stratosphere would be a better use.
There are so many themes in this anime, but in the end, it’s all about being the first man in space. I figured concentrating on that would be the best bet. After showing this to a couple friends, they never would have guessed that the launch takes place under the circumstances in the anime.
I’ve often watched the launch sequence, just by itself. I think the animation actually went up in FPS for that moment. I just wish that Manga could put out a copy that looked better than the VHS. But I guess the folks who are going to buy this are going to buy it no matter what.
It bothers me that the speech from space was so badly translated. “Give us a guiding star…” just as the sun crests the horizon.
And then, some sort of weird “Powaqqatsi” march through time and history.

No, it’s the launch. That’s what this anime is all about.

Extra “Easy Rider” editing technique homage for no extra charge at launch.
