Oops. My bad. I'm feeling rather pissy and headachey today for some reason. I did get the link, btw. It's no biggie to click on the 'profile link' box below, but it's still kind of annoying. Okay then, the vid itself.

Bad:

DivX logos. Subtitles.
See 4-6. If you're making videos purely for your own enjoyment, then fine, but as you're putting them here on the org and announcing them then I presume you want to get them seen and noticed. Naruto + Linkin Park isn't going to do you much good here, and neither is apparently not caring enough about your video to put something on the info page. No matter how short and easy the editing process was, it's far less trouble to just write a few sentences (Yes, this is one of my pet peeves).
Do you really need credits at both ends of the vid?

Orphan frames.

Good:

Quality's good and the file's small.
Timing's generally solid.

Stuff I noticed first time round:

It's strange to see Sasuke lip-synching only three-quarters of a line.
Cheesy flame transition with the photo.
Some major beats missed. The vid seems to be synched to the lyrics a line at a time to the exclusion of most other things.
~2.56: Now that was cool. Not only was the guy moving in time to the music, but the effects matched the beats.

General (ignoring how often this combination has been used. I've said enough):

It's alright for a first video, but as an action vid it falls down due to the extremely slow cuts. Thare are times when you spend an entire line on the same shot, and sometimes it's just a close up of someone's face. I noticed a few effects here and there... some black flashes (don't think about that) and some still shots during the soft part of the song. Those are pretty useful for breaking up the footage, so it'd be a good idea to experiment with those, as well as making the cuts faster.

This is 100% purely my opinion here (as always...), but the In The End's lyrics are so generic that there's no point in synching to them beyond picking a vaguely appropriate scene. There's some nice music behind the angsty lyrics, and it's a good song to make AMVs to. Just cause it's overused, doesn't mean it sucks.

Woah, thanks for the big post. I mean it, next time I will correct my mistakes. Now that you said that, I can be more cautious on my videos.

I have the 720x480 file, and the quality is 2x better, but it's like 300k. I don't want to take up all the bandwith on this website...

Maybe you're new here, but you apparently have no idea about exactly how unoriginal your idea actually is. The only idea with less originality than that is 'Dragonball Z - In The End', which is so unoriginal it wouldn't even attract a few pithy remarks. I'm sorry, but he's pretty much right- no-one really cares about In The End AMVs anymore, and Naruto AMVs of ANY kind need to be really exceptional to attract any praise.

Is it possible for anyone to announce their first AMV and NOT get answers like this? If you're going to spend time typing a post like that how about you throw in a few EDITING pointers in as well. Can't we all just get along?

ill check out your vid and leave a op on it seeing as im in a good mode today... but i can tell you before hand that this is not gonna go down well on the originality grade as this has prob bin done 100 if not up to a 1000 times... just a warning not a flame.
