Well, this is my first released AMV, I've tried doing some videos (out of FF cut scenes), but nothing with external music.
This is the first one made and as already said, first one released.
Can always hope some of you like it as much as I do.
Done with Adobe Premier Pro and TMPGEnc Plus.

- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Downloaded and watched because I'm a huge VNV Nation fan and they need more good videos done.
Personally, I was dissapointed. For an 8+ minute long video, there's not very much to hold my attention - very few cuts, almost like you dropped the FMVs onto the timeline and just let them play out. You also had a lot of interlacing problems throughout the vid.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the number of clips ie variation of video should be linked to the variation in sound.dokool wrote:very few cuts
But you're also talking about attention, and perhaps doing good/nice/smooth clipping is the only way to keep the attention for someone watching the source video for the 100th time. I might be blind to my own work.
Sorry about the interlacing, I found no way to fix it and thank you for commenting anyway.

While it's an interesting theory, it's not always true. I think you should watch a few AMVs that use slower songs to see what they do.Kaigon wrote:Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the number of clips ie variation of video should be linked to the variation in sound.dokool wrote:very few cuts
If I want to watch practically unedited FMVs, I'll play the games. I think if you're worried about losing someone's interest because the source footage is so overused, you need to reconsider your concept and figure out how you're going to make them interested.Kaigon wrote:But you're also talking about attention, and perhaps doing good/nice/smooth clipping is the only way to keep the attention for someone watching the source video for the 100th time.
For example, Airships is 8+ minutes long. You could have easily edited the song down and turned it into a solid video. It's really, really, really hard for one editor to do a video longer than 5 minutes, and even harder for them to make the video not suck.
As far as the interlacing goes, I suggest The Guide, but asking around in Video Help someone will be able to help you deinterlace FMV footage as it's a beast of a different nature. You also probably could have shrunk the size down a bit (with even better video quality) by using XviD instead of MPG.
