I've been playing it for 5 years now, and it only gets better (thank you, mod cummunity). I probably have at least 1,000 'flight hours' in that one alone :P

The 'hardcore' sim community is slowly dying thanks to not being profitable and mainstream enough - which is why people like me now actually praise simpler, accessible titles (like this one) instead of sneering at them. They might well prove to be a 'gateway drug' for beginners and get them interested in the more complex stuff, which otherwise might just slowly die over the next several years :|
i've never actually played any of the falcon games... i've always been a strong supporter of Jane's flight sims. At least until EA bought the develpent portion of the company and they stopped making them >.< LO: MAC (Lock On: Modern Air Combat) was pretty decnt, i just wish it was expanded more to allow for more aircraft and missions. I'm also waiting for a decent AH-64 flight sim to be released. Jane's Longbow was the best, and probably still is, but's a pain to get working on newer systems and the graphics are outdated.

Anyway, i'm glad these trailers and sparking peopls interest in both the game and the anime :P

Yea, Jane's was the leader back in the day, a shame to see them go this way. LO:MAC is the king of graphics, but it needs very good hardware, and realism- and feature-wise, while nice, it's not nearly up to par with F4. Which is remarkable considering F4 is almost 6 years old...

Falcon 4 is an awesome game, which sucked when it first came out (because it was buggy as hell). It took a year or so for it to even become stable through official patches, and then it just took off from there through community support, which tweaked and remodeled everything and now even changed the graphics engline.
Of course, the downside is that it takes hours to get the game running from scratch thanks to all the patching. The learning curve for it is not just steep, it's REALLY steep. But of course it's totally worth it. Almost 10 years of constant development can get a flight sim to all kinds of places

Good times
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Heheh... I bought falcon 4, and after having so many problems with the bugs and such, never realy got into it. Then my brother had to roll over the cd with his chair and break it. So now if I want to give it a try again, I have to find it, and buy it again. If its even still available. awell. The graphics engine in that game realy had my interest too... It was one of those games I was anctiously waiting to be released, and bought it the minute it came out, only to be disapointed by the unstableness of it. (that was years ago ofcourse) I did the same with Masters of orion 4 (since I loved 3) but I was disapointed in the dinamics of 4. (Or was it 2 and 3 respectively? can't remember exactly. The latest one I was disapointed in anyway.)

I'd be happy just to get MSFS and fly a B747-400; perhaps even join a virtual airline. <---(old airline otaku, former airline employee) 8)
