AniBo 2k3 AMV Panel Intro Video

Post by Ashyukun » Thu Apr 24, 2003 9:11 pm

After much harassing by my co-chair  I finally got around to putting up the intro video we used for the Anime Boston 2003 "AMV Do's, Don'ts and Demonstations" panel. It's amusing if for no other reason than to see what happens when I set out to intentionally make a bad video (specfically, 30 seconds of a LBZ "In the End" video). Maybe not quite up (or should that be 'down') to Sh!tstorm standards, but... :P

I'm glad you guys liked it. Sorry Rich, it wasn't really meant to cause physical harm- just psychological

Thanks Castor, but I think Dragon Bebop Z took a little bit more rotoscoping than mine did. Though I suppose I could have subtitled the video "Bebop's Payback" or something 8)

Ooof. I dunno if I could do something like that for a full 30 minutes... I would really have liked to have had several of us that were on the panel get Japanese translations of the lines that were put in the subtitles and dub the lines so the characters were actually saying what the subtitles said they were, but that just didn't work out. I have thought (primarily thanks to Chaos Angel's "Jedi vs. Empire") that it would amusing to do a half hour show type thing of Spike and Jet watching and reviewing AMVs Beavis and Butthead style...

I got a Japanese roomate who speaks/writes English and Japanese. Maybe he would do the voice overs for you. He's also got about 3 or 4 other friends that could do it as well.

To re-do the existing one, or for the B&B parody? The B&B parody would be considerably funnier in English, I'd imagine. And I can't really update the current one (at least for distro) until Phade puts a mechanism in place to replace existing uploads with new/different versions. :?

Hell, I'd love to try my hand at dubbing something in Japanese for a change. Dibs on Jet, if I get the chance.

Heh. I'll keep that in mind, Rich. Did you want to dub him for just the segment I already did, or if I do additional stuff (including the B&B parody) as well? :P

Sure, why not? I enjoy doing voice work, and it's not like I'm new to fan parodies.
