Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

It isn't, if you think lipsync is purely an effect for comic purposes and nothing more. Here, it worked ^_- as the video did generally, even if I don't have much patience with anything that pairs any of the female pilots with Shinji... It occurred to me at one point "This video's too happy for Eva, damn it!" but it worked nonetheless. ^_^trythil wrote:![]()
whoa.
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I honestly never expected the thing to be received so well.
Yeah, this isn't the kind of song you would lip-sync to.silver_moon wrote: I don't know about the bit of lip-syncing you did, though. It just doesn't seem like a song you would lip-sync to. But that's just minor. It's definitely my favourite of your vids so far.
Review forthcoming (he says, adding it to his list).

I don't think that -- what I mean is that it's hard for characters like Rei and Asuka to match up with somebody with such a powerful voice like Sarah's. Oh, sure, it's easy to get the timing down, but as we all know, lip-sync isn't just getting the mouth to work. It's also about non-verbal qualities: the angle of the head with regards to the horizon, facial expression, lighting and general coloration, placement on the screen, camera movement, head movement...tomj wrote:It isn't, if you think lipsync is purely an effect for comic purposes and nothing more.trythil wrote:![]()

I got the timing down. I missed just about everything else.
Happy? The video is about lost love..."This video's too happy for Eva, damn it!" but it worked nonetheless. ^_^
...bleh, so much for clearly communicating a story. I lose

There's nothing more pathetic than double-posting in one's own announcement thread, but this DOES relate back to "always", so what the hell.
I've done a new render of the thing that tweaks a few scenes; the most significant tweaks are deletion of two lipsync overlays. I like this version a hell of a lot better, because it's much simpler, and thus communicates the story more directly. The new download link is posted on the video's information page -- look for "no lipsync" if you're weird enough to download this thing again.
"New 'always'! Same size and half the shit! Sweet Jesus!"

I did a couple of videos using the first two songs of Carmina Burana, as did someone else - that is about Eva's level. ^_^

I thought the lip sync prior to the chorus was out of place, but at the beginning of the chorus, it REALLY added to the video. Rei's lip sync during the first chorus is my favorite part of the video!trythil wrote:I've done a new render of the thing that tweaks a few scenes; the most significant tweaks are deletion of two lipsync overlays.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.
