Kill La Kill AMV - Feedback Appreciated!
Hey, so this video is almost a year old now but I would really appreciate some feedback.
So far throughout the years I've been editing, I've never really received any feedback or constructive criticism at all. Turns out YouTube isn't a great place for that.
Pretty much any improvements I've ever made to my editing has been based solely on what I enjoy watching and how I feel I could do better. I guess this isn't necessarily a bad thing as I make AMV's primarily for myself, however it would be nice to get a proper opinion from others every once in a while!
I'm asking for feedback on this video in particular because out of all my AMV's recently (yep, for me within a year is recent), this one feels the most complete to me. That's not too surprising though as the idea behind the AMV was simply to show off as much Kill La Kill as possible. Also, this AMV is rather long and I would be interested in finding out if other people are able to make it all the way through and enjoy it (I'm making another long AMV at the moment and want to make sure I don't bore people).
The editing in this is fairly simple. To keep myself sane what I did was divide the song into 24 roughly equal parts and then edited each episode in sequence to each part, so it was like making 24 smaller AMV's. I focused on what I felt were the highlights to each episode, I also got fairly lucky, the pace of the song matched fairly well to the pace of the anime so I think overall it turned out alright.
Any feedback would be awesome!

Editing-wise, I thought you did a great job. I especially enjoyed where you placed the "fight" between Inumuta and Ryuko. I didn't love the section where you placed Ryuko and Satsuki's transformation right next to each other. It felt like I didn't really know where to look, if that makes sense. I would have either alternated clips or one before the other. I also feel like you could have used a different clip other than Senketsu being destroyed and Ryuko falling for the ending as it's a little bleak. As far as the length goes, it's pretty long. That plus the lack of lyrics made the video feel like it dragged on. I will say that it made for a good summary of Kill la Kill, which I take from the description was your goal.

Heh, I cracked myself up editing that part and still find it hilarious after watching this so many times. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.ShizayaFanart wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 5:32 pmEditing-wise, I thought you did a great job. I especially enjoyed where you placed the "fight" between Inumuta and Ryuko.
This is what I've been missing out on. To me this part makes perfect sense because that's how the clip is in the anime, it didn't occur to me to make any changes because when I watch it, I see it as "that's how it should be". The only thing I felt was awkward with that part was the change in aspect ratio.I didn't love the section where you placed Ryuko and Satsuki's transformation right next to each other. I did kinda feel like I half assed the ending so it's interesting to hear that someone else doesn't like the ending. I felt a bit stuck at that part because it was either use the falling clips, or use clips where everyone is nude together at the endI also feel like you could have used a different clip other than Senketsu being destroyed and Ryuko falling for the ending as it's a little bleak

Thank you for getting through the entire vid! And thank you so much for all your feedback! It's been really eye opening for me.As far as the length goes, it's pretty long. You're asking for constructive criticism and I don't know if I can give you any right now, so I'm just kind of bumping this in hopes that I'll be up for the task later on.
This AMV is really something.
