"Aladdin's Request" -- Magi AMV Out

Post by TheDestineeAMV » Fri Mar 24, 2017 1:55 am

Hi!
After taking some advice from my last AMV announcement, this is my new AMV. It's called Aladdin's Request, and a few things that I tried to improve on is flow and serious minimizing of lip-flapping. So if you see any lip movement, I did try to sync it with the music, but it's up to you guys as to whether or not I did a good job at that. Also, if you have also seen my forum post about text within an AMV, this is the one that I was working on with that, so please tell me what you think of the final result. Hope you guys like it!

You really improved since your last vid. Nice Job  This one had so much more flow and did a pretty good job keeping up with the song's pace. One tip that I'll give you is that crossfades are typically used for slower vids or to transition between slow portions of the song. Using crossfades in upbeat vids or fast portions of a song can break the momentum a bit.

But nice job overall. Its always fun to see people improve over time :awesome:

Hmm, I guess I never thought about that. What transitions would you suggest using then, because a lot of the other ones that I have tried to use when making this video seemed really choppy :?:

Thanks as always for looking at my videos tho. :D

Transitions are very situational, and no transition will work every time. But faster paced videos tend to rely more on hard cuts that create flow between scenes by connecting movement and motions. In my opinion, the best way to learn about transitions is to simply watch a lot of other people's AMVs and ask yourself what works. But since a lot of it comes down to personal style and preference, its kinda just something that everybody has to pick up along the way.
