This is the second video I made to submit to the Florida Anime Experience's AMV Contest in 2012. I honestly was not expecting this video to win anything, and actually came up with the idea for it roughly a week before the deadline.

So I ended up spending half the week ripping the footage and half the week actually making the video (by far making it my fastest-made video ever), but I'm insanely familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist in general having seen both series multiple times, so its not as crazy as I make it sound.

I wanted to try an experiment with this video. Forgive me if this has been done before, but I had yet to see a video using both the Original Series and Brotherhood, and I thought I'd give it a try. I ran into the rather large issue of the original series being 4:3 while Brotherhood and The Sacred Star of Milos are both 16:9, so I resized the original series footage to a 16:9 ratio (some of you may remember that thread).

My point with this was to compare the way the original series and Brotherhood told some of these stories in an interesting visual manner, and to showcase "The Sacred Star of Milos" as well.

About the ending: (PLEASE DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU'VE WATCHED THE VIDEO)
Spoiler :
Because this song does not have a true ending, I came up with the idea to fade back to the beginning of the song and to cut to black to make the viewer think the video was over; then blast back in with what is (IMO) the best way to end the video with that portion of the song. This clearly worked at FAE 2012's contest, because the audience started applauding and then laughed/cheered when Ed punches his hand back through the gate. I'm curious what the rest of you think of this idea I had.
