A Double dose of a double dose of vids =D

IC Vids

RAGE EDITING, YAY!

Disney MEP II Tracks

Image

My track for the Disney MEP II: A Whole New AMV.

I really like how this turned out and I have been wanting to do a tribute to Jing for the longest time, but never found a good song for him. Until the Disney MEP made me think of this song, which I found was perfect for him.

And gotta love the irony. Jing's Opening Theme is called Shout It Loud, while in the Stand Out lyrics, he keeps saying "Shout Out Loud" ....hench....the title was just meant to be as a double meaning. XD

Oh this also won the Gene Starwind Memorial at Anime Mid Atlantic. =3

I made the video entry for this thing two months ago so I could be all ready to upload when the MEP was out. I totally forgot. Enjoy.

Both ICs:

Very nice :D Only problem is...the length! D: Triple the length at minimum and sign up for Brad's IC next time round. We could have some pretty cool contenders :3

Shout Out Loud:

First off...LIPFLAPLIPFLAPLIPFLAP! No! BAD! *hits you with a newspaper*

Beyond that, it's a cute video...but it does have one glaringly obvious problem that is actually rather common and I myself, have been guilty of...
Ok, so the entire time, Jing is supposed to rise up and make you notice him and become the very best, like no one ever was~ The only problem is, you're so busy giving him facetime...that we have nothing to compare him too D: There is no real setup that shows what he has to overcome and all the challenges he has to accomplish to make his way to the top. There are a couple bad guys...and then they're gone D: I can't connect with or root for a character if all I ever see are faceshots and poses...

Also, around 2:27 I believe it was...you do that little 3D screen flip. Don't do that :| Seriously, stock transitions rarely look good and since there are only two of them and they happen within a very short time frame they look really out of place and jarring.

So yeah, overall...cute...but sadly, Jing failed to stand out :< Maybe he should give Max a call for some lessons? Or just get his hands on some cheeze whiz :awesome:

Welcome To Our Family:

Honestly, I was bored with the concept before the minute mark even hit D:It kinda felt like one of those stereotypical situations where someone sits you down and forces you to watch a slideshow of their family vacation...

And then, out of nowhere, the old lady is dead. WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN? O_o

For the most part, it just felt like a really linear Summer Wars video with all the interesting parts cut out...

Sorry man, I didn't dig it.

Already seen the ICs on Youtube and Shout Out Loud when you sent me it over Skype. Nice vids are nice vids!

Welcome To Our Family:

Ohh, I really like this one, it's really um..cheery? Well the mood is definitely the happy sort and it's just when I see all of them enjoying themselves and having fun during summer it kinda puts a smile on my face. The vid itself is simple but edited very nicely and I'm surprised there was no Oz or any battle scenes not that it's a bad thing, actually I think it shows a different side to Summer Wars which is nice.

I'm thinking it's just her age, I mean she is pretty old so it's kinda natural for it to happen and things started going downhill when that guy was almost arrested.

Shout Out Loud was fantastic. For those that can just enjoy a nice mindless AMV with a funky upbeat tune, it's a great time with great editing and an enjoyable atmosphere. There were a few scenes where I was suspicious [HEARTBEAT :P], but on the whole, it was a great experience. Although in hindsight, Yue does have some good points about a deeper theme and for better overall AMV, but I don't think the video really needed that deep of a concept. I highly recommend and think everyone should check this out.

Welcome Home was what it was. It was all about the family and was a great sentimental piece. It's not something that is meant to get us up and dancing, but I can enjoy it for what it was. Plus, it was a great combo. Although I do think it's something I don't see myself watching a great deal. XD
