Generic Naruto AMV to mainstream music

Post by Mastamind » Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:13 am

Well, here ya go |:>

This is what came out of Windows Movie Maker about a month after I opened it up for the first time, with the intent of actually editing something. Naruto, because I knew nothing about amvs outside that anime at the time. The song, because it happened to be my most-played track on the game Rockband, so I knew all the beats to sync to... and beat sync is pretty much what I was going for with this.

I'm only uploading this out of nostalgia and because I don't want to lie next time when I have to check the box for the VCA's. Also because I never really got many opinions on this, so I'd like to see all your reactions. Should be up in a couple minutes.. Enjoy.

Let's start with the basics

1) Subtitles = BAD
2) Random White Flashes = Bad
3) Pretty bad visual quality = Bad
4) Lip sync works best when there's no subtitles to kind fo screw things up. xD
5) The scene selection wasn't actually all that bad. It was a shame it was all from pretty much just one episode and the various opening, I think more vareity would have added more to it in the overall. The action scenes just kind of seem thrown in there, and needs more focus with the beats and more focus on the story you want to go with.
6) The video sizes need to be uniform. The black bars on the sides could really be cropped off and would have bettered it a little bit.
7) More scene variety. Please. :D
8) The part in the middle when the music really slows downs after "close your eyes" was actually not all that bad, I just wish there wasn't all the quick scenery and white flashes everywhere to ruin the flow.

For a first video, it's average. It has a lot of errors in it that new editors seem to have. IT can be vastly improved upon, but I do see small tidbits of promise in here.
