  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I could try exporting it raw and then using another program like you suggested, but if this gives me the same result i'll need to try something else =p
anyway, i'm on it ^^
This maybe due to how the source is processed. Unfortunatly it sounds as if you are working with a copy of the source that may have already had some sort of 'shrink' process done on it. Lukily this should not have an effect on interlacing patterns. What is your source preparation process? Are you familiar with DGIndex and AVSynth?
Something similar to this AVS template maybe appropriate (remove Decimate() for PAL, or to maintain 29.97 NTSC):

Code: Select all

dgsource("__vid__")
Telecide()
Decimate()
Convolution3d (preset="animeHQ")
This will leave NO interlace in the output prepared source. It will be 100% Progressive. When switching from an interlaced source to progressive in an existing project go back and check your edits to make sure they still lineup.

To be fair i'm not really familiar with either of them. I have used AVSynth once when trying to import an .mkv file into premiere pro, with a plugin for premiere as well, but it kept giving errors so i gave that up and got it into premiere by converting it to mp4. That's pretty much all the knowledge i have of that =p

The footage i have on my DVD's was MPEG 2 (said so on the cover and the dvd itself) so i just copied the VOB files and renamed them .mpeg since i didn't wanna lose extra quality by again converting it to something else. I can just tell that the last episode of the series was less quality then the other episodes and is showing more artifacts then the other episodes. After i finish my project i just export it as .mp4 but thats creating the lines on the places where many artifacts were showing, kinda like it's trying to repair the loss of quality there. When i export it as .wmv or .mpeg i don't get the lines, but you can still see i difference in quality near the end. Seeing as the loss of quality is already there it might be better to just make it a .wmv again so that the lines are atleast not visible ^^

The process goes like this, simplified:

DVD (decode, index) => .vob (script in AviSynth, encode or mount to lossless avis) => .avi (edit in editor, render lossless avi) => .avi (encode in some encoder like ZarxGUI or SImpleGUI) => .mp4
