1) Learn how to get the best footage possible [read the guides, start up a thread if you need assistance, or pm somebody that knows what they're doing]
2) Learn to take critisim. Around here, we're not like youtube. We try to assist one and other on how we can improve our techniques. Sometimes this means having to be blunt about things. I've gotten my share of "this sync sucked" or "that footage looks like shit", but from the bluntness and assitance, we can learn and evolve as editors.
3) Clean up the editing. Removal of lip flap, tighting up sync [to the beat, to the lyrics or to the "groove"], and having the best scene selection. USually, this means sending somebody a "beta" or your amv before you upload it and have them review it for you. I usually have 5-6 people look at my videos before I even consider uploading. Usually, other people can see the mistakes that you've ignored, or take an entirely different interpretation of your work that you might need to alter.
4) Take more time. Usually, editors can spend weeks if not months on AMV's to get them to "perfection". My Betwixt and Between took me 3-4 weeks, the Disney MEP has taken 5 months, and my new Howl video I'm working on has been in production for nearly 5 weeks now. To make really great AMV's [which I believe is what you might want], you need to take time.
Like I said, I've really liked several of your videos. I NEVER KEEP VIDEOS UNLESS I REALLY LIKE THEM. I have two of your videos on file. I want you to evolve and become a better editor, because I think you really have the potential to be something more. I really hope you take the time to evolve.
