Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Persona: Trinity Soul [Series One Project]

Post by GunGraveOD » Mon May 17, 2010 10:09 pm

I have begun a project,

I am currently watching Persona: Trinity Soul {Its good} and my project is to make an AMV out of each episode.

There are two uploaded so far with twenty-four to go

I shall try to only update this thread when I have more than one video to report, other than that I crave Opinions and feedback.

Thanks.

hmm pleasantly surprised by both of these. I like the first one you made enough to watch the second. I do think I like the first one a bit more. I do hate wmm though, I used it for years and it really really limits you. You're too good of an editor to be using that in my opinion. I really liked your scene choices and while I think the sync could have been better in the second one and I noticed some orphan frames during your fades in the first I can mostly chalk that up to the crap that is wmm because it used to do that to me all the time. One thing also, in the second video the white fades, wmm doesn't do that well so I would recommend (well firstly I would recommend a different program but probably from my years of suffering through wmm I'm biased) but if you must use it and fade to white I would then crop off the edges so that the entire screen doesn't fade to white on a 16:9 video. I don't really see why someone would want to make 26 videos to one anime but eh if it works for you. It's an original concept at least, one amv an episode and I'm glad to see you actually putting real effort into them as opposed to just throwing random scenes on with random music.

Ha ha! I am sure at lease a few will end up fitting that discription.
Thanks for the ops. seems to be proof that my effort may be worth showing the general public.

Just because I don't have a miserable life and feel the need to come on the internet and bash everything does not mean I mindlessly praise everyone. I may not adhere to the elitist attitude this community is always accused of having but I do my best to give people my opinion and criticism in a constructive and polite way so that they may actually improve instead of getting discouraged. You might post and say 'This sucks' I will post and say 'I didn't like it and this is why-' one they can't learn anything from and the other they still might not learn anything from but at least I tried. There's ways of conveying your message to people with manors and tact, something I would have wished you had learned before bothering to come back.

Just because I can phrase my criticism in a polite way does not make it mindless 'praise'. I blow smoke up no ones ass and I stand by all my comments on the video. Better than I expected, needed some work and I mentioned the areas in which I thought the editor needed to improve. You may disagree and are entitled to your opinion, which you didn't even try to give and help the editor, choosing instead to belittle mine.

If they want to make a video to every episode of something that's their choice and from the 2 videos above it seems they are already putting more effort into it than any of yours I can recall seeing. But either way at least they are doing something more productive with their time than posting in every thread trying to find something to argue about.

this may sound odd to you but I agree with this, I lack manners and I lack politeness, however this is intentional. I don't have a soul, I'm a psychopath, and as such I don't prefer being nice in any circumstance. However, I was offering advice, maybe it was misinterpreted, because I have always struggled making amvs when suffering from a lack of footage. I was attempting to state from my experience that editing with any less than 2 hours of footage can be quite tiresome. Although I may be blunt, it is my nature, and I apologize.

Editing with under 2 hours of footage is awsm and everyone should try it.

you hurt my feelings.

Only because you did not say my videos sucked, you say my idea is dumb.
How can it be dumb, when each episode can stand alone as far as composition and narrative?
Why is it bad to take each episode and show all its best parts, rather than take all 26 episodes and reduce them down to maybe 5 or 6 minutes of all the best scenes? Or, rather, reduce it to one song and one emotional response?

I refuse to let my creativity be bogged down by the posturing of one forum member, much less my intelligence.

that's like saying you can make a half decent montage with one episode of that 70's show on the progression of eric and donna's relationship
