This is the first AMV I've done since I started University so, yes, I am ever so slightly rusty.
Title: Running Up That Road
Anime: FullMetal Alchemist (Spoilers) & The Conqueror of Shamballa
Music: 'Runnng Up That Hill' as performed by Placebo
It's an emotionally themed AMV that centers round the main goal of Ed and Al's Adventures.
I realise some of my AMV's have been pretty awful in the past and I would love some constructive feedback on this one so I can improve my later ones.

Re: Full Metal Alchemist/Placebo AMV - Spoilers
First of all let me run down some of the few minor technical issues.
1. Interlacing. I'm not sure if this is from when you imported or exported but it could be fixed for future videos pretty easily.
2. Aspect Ratio. The FMA movie is in widescfree 16:9 while the show is in 4:3, since the scenes were mainly from the show you probably should have cropped and resized the widescreen footage.
please
read AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video
It's a big read, but well worth it for all the information it contains. It will help with all of the technical issues.
Second let me comment on some of the minor other things i noticed with this video.
Some of the scenes went on too long, some scenes just did not flow correctly from one cut to the next. When a scene has alot of motion and suddent jumps to a scene with no motion there tends to be a bit of a jarring effect.
Third let me give you my overall impression.
I liked it.
It's very much a mood focused video, and I really liked the majority of it. The ending I thought was spectacular, and for the most part the chorus was well done.
I can tell a BIG FMA fan made this video, and that it would be enjoyed by other fans of FMA and that's totally cool. This hobby should be about what it was originally about, expressing your fandom in a cool way.!
So congrats, and I hope this as well as the #amv-review helps you figure some stuff out.
Make some more cool things!

I think most of us are leaving ops *_* lol but.
I'd like to add just following the directions left in Zarx' video tutorials (found in the guide) would improve your footage greatly as well! Just in case you don't like reading encyclopedia articles lol like myself

Re: Full Metal Alchemist/Placebo AMV - Spoilers
Thank you so much to everyone that's left opinions etc. It's nice to know where I'm going wrong for once as opposed to just being told my AMV sucks.
The interlacing issue is a problem I've picked up on myself but for some reason can't seem to fix (but I will figure it out eventually), as for the change in reslution between the show and film, I was really kicking myself when I exported it and then found out that I'd forgotten to fix that (so it won't happen next time).
I think I rushed this one a little bit, and thanks to your advice and comments I think I know what to do on my next project.
I will be working on a new evangelion amv soon for a contest in September and I plan to take it nice and slow and make sure everything about it is just right.
Again, thank you so so much.
