One Piece: I'm on a Boat

Post by fishytoothy » Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:55 am

Hey guys. Fishytoothy/Ultimate Universe here. I finally uploaded my One Piece "I'm on a Boat" Tribute video. Back when I made it around March of 2009, this site wasn't allowing uploads for some reason and I kind of forgot about posting it. I posted it to the dreaded Utub at that time, but I wanted to post it here where real AMV fans reside. It has gotten very positive feedback so far (best AMV evar!) so hopefully some of you enjoy it!

:D

Use the vidid tag to get this:

As for the AMV, it was quite fun. Still, one thing bugged me - why was half of the footage with black borders on the sides? If it wasn't for the technical aspect this would've been a great fun watch.

The footage from older one piece episodes toward the beginning of the series are in 4:3 and the newer episodes are in windscreen. It was either cut off the wide screen and make it all 4:3 or keep the wide screen and have the 4:3 footage with black space. I can't abide cutting out footage, so I just kept them like they were. I feel like the contrast is less noticeable if you watch in Utub's player rather than playing a downloaded file in a player for some reason.

Well when dealing with different ARs it's usually better to make them all the same AR.

either crop the 4:3 so it's 16:9 or crop the 16:9 so it's 4:3

I liked it better without cropping. I guess it doesn't bother me as much as stretching/cutting stuff off.

The combination was pretty much guaranteed to elicit a smile and it certainly didn't disapoint. Despite the aneurysm T-Pain gives me and my feelings regarding the black borders It's a load of fun, and I can't really ask for much more than that. Fun fun fun, and nice scene selection in general.
