Have you ever seen those old toonami commercials that were like amvs? They were really awesome, but they had absolutely no theme. They only showed random scenes from the series in order to get the audience excited about watching it. That's what your amv reminded me of. The music is really cool, and you use some pretty nice scenes from the series, but your amv lacks plot and consistency. At first, I thought it was about Inuyasha and Kagome, but then you switched to Seshomaru, back to Kagome, then to Kikiyo, and finally back to Kagome. If i was about to watch some Inuyasha DVDs, then watching this amv would be a nice way to get reacquainted with the series. But as a stand alone video, your amv is just too random.

I give it a 2.7 out of 5

there's virtue in random scenes toonami style. It just means you have to work harder to convince people its something they should be happy with.

If this is really your first video, then you're certainly off to an excellent start.

Plot is always welcome but is it absolutely essential? I suppose it's the most obvious element that's "missing" here but that doesn't invalidate this video's positive qualities as an upbeat and effective montage.

This amv is most definitely an excellent start in terms of first videos. But since i consider myself to be a mostly "Drama/ Romance editor", I think that I sometimes rate amvs a bit heavily on their overall plot. Most of the videos on my top 10 amv list don't have plot, so I completely agree that it isn't absolutely essential. And since this amv is without a doubt better than my first amv, I certainly didn't mean to give the impression that I was "invalidating its positive qualities".
