Re: The Girl at the Video Game Store
Nice Idea and good scene selection but bad executed. Still about most of the time it was ok.

Don't think I pick on you, but you asked for the things that bugged me:
00:00
mpeg. Yeah ok it's one of your first vids, but take a look into the guids and move on to a much more effective codec/compression:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech3/
Yeah the guide is a lot of things to read, but it's more than worth it.
00:03
What's up with the cheesy shake, zoome, whatever fx? They just appear here for (I guess) syncing reasons, but without it would be the same good.
00:15
Lipsync could be tighter and more correct.
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... psync.html
That goes for many places.
You seam to have sometimes too much lipsync going on. I sometimes miss the video game action. A more variety of animes could have been good.
01:50
That's not game action. That's singing again with bad lipsync.
02:00
Do you hear it out? There is oviously a change in the music. There must have been a scene change for the sake of syncing. The change comes to late.
02:20
eh... Yeah the scene just seams wrong. Some other scenes between this one wouldn't lead in such a misery.
02:47
With this scene alone you wouldn't need really need 02:20 wich looks chessy. You try to makes his fire smooth and stuff, but the rest seams shivering and... well just wrong. I don't think that you don't notice anything wrong with 02:20![]()
This are all details wich do play a big part in the overall image of your amv.
well the only reason i use mpg is cause of the damn 100mb cap on the site that i have an avi file that is way to big so i have to shrink it and the only proram i have to shrink it is win dvd creator - which i sometimes can lose quality with that as well

the shaking is actually part of the video itself - if you've seen lucky star you might know that.
i wasn't actually trying to go with the lipsynicing there but it just happend to kind of work while i was editing so i left it as is - probably wasn't best choice but instead of the lip syncing was actually just kinda leaving it as part of "being on my friend list"
yeah i heard the change while i was editing - but the "joy never ending" i just kinda let it go a little further cause its "never ending"...... plus i couldn't really thing ok anything to put into that small spot before the "membership card" wording was coming up.
I don't see anything wrong with 2:20 cause being when he gets louder he starts on fire again....i thought that worked really well...but maybe that's just me and with 2:47 being he was put back on fire in 2:20 it would make sense to put him out again......so thats where that falls in.
anyway i guess it wouldn't make it any better to someone who can find the flaws like that... I can find flaws in a few of my earlier videos that could have been better but i don't bother to go back and re-change the few things that could make it a "little better" it's what i ended up with so i'm happy with my end result even if there are a few flaws - sure i've done roughly 20 videos but i'm still a noob so it will probably take me a while to get anything perfected
anyway thanks for the tips and the links and i'll try to get better with a few upcoming videos i've started a couple but they are still pretty rough and i end up sticking some scense where they look good till i find something that fits better but i'll try harder

anyway thanks again

.avi is just a container for various encoded videos. Just like other file formats like .mp4 or .wmv ... You just need the right codec with the right settings and everything works fine:You're doing it wrong!

Seriously? Oh... bad luck for your video .-. It really looks cheesy.the shaking is actually part of the video itself - if you've seen lucky star you might know that.

Yeah, well i guess being a noob has its disadvantages - i'll have to check out your videos sometime - doubt i could nit pick anything but i find as long as a video is enjoyable then that's all that really matters....although i have found myself doing the same thing noticing a few things that could be better - so feel free to nit pick at my other videos and give me some pointers - one i know is flawed in a couple parts is my "fairytale" video though my gf said it was good as is and to submit it - but i know that one could have used a bit more work.

anyways thanks again for all the links and the helpful pointers i will try to keep them in mind for my next videos
