Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

First of all, thanks a lot to the people who had nice comments in their replies!! I appreciate them a lot. :)

I originally planned to send this to 4 cons: Anime Boston, Acen, Anime Expo and Fanime. It did not get into the first three, so I sent it to a few more so it could be seen. (As for my Ouran video that someone brought up in a quick comment for this video, 3 contest coordinators that I sent that video to asked if I would send it in due to lack of entries + 1 more that I saw on the forums asking for entries.) I do apologize though, because it IS a lot of cons and I definitely see where you are coming from there. I'll keep that in mind for future con entries. :)

As for everybody else, I'm sorry that my video does not appeal to you. :( I would have never imagined anyone would think of it as totally opposite as I had planned. I think people are looking at it as a romance video and that is throwing them off a little. I don't want to get into HUGE detail but... First of all, this video is NOT a romance video. I did not make it with the intention of being purely romantic and I'm surprised that people are seeing it as a romance video. Only 2 of the "couples" in the video are really "mates". Also, it's true I didn't map out everything that happened to each character, but the point of the video is that no matter WHAT it is you go through, somebody loves you and can help you through it. That's as far as I will get into it for now because I am tired and because of reasons mentioned in my previous post...
Kitsuner wrote:This video was very inspirational for me. I'm not sure how soon I can act on that inspiration, but trust me, I will. Just to be clear, is the scene where the girl's crying onstage from Kanon?
I'm so happy to hear this! :) I'm ecstatic you got inspired. No, actually that scene is from Clannad (season 1, not After Story).

Don't apologize! Never apologize for making something that you like and always expect criticism. It must be shocking to win all those awards and not get the same type of reaction at the forums. It just goes to show that con audiences and forum audience are different. There have been many arguments that has been recently going on about whether the audience or hand picked judges who has been around the amv community should vote for what vid was the best at con.

Overall I thought you video was ok. A 3/5. The problem was it has been done before. I found that most anime fans are not into making or watching AMVs. Most people usually only watch AMVs at cons so the audience only have had a limited amount of exposure. It's easier to please them then us here.

If it wasn't for that song...

It seemed to me like a typical sentimental amv. Nothing special... but quite good executed. 4/5 and... nice try.
