Re: money, cash, hoes, MONEY CASH HOES
The concept in and of itself is unoriginal, but it could have been funny. However, this wasn't even retro 2001 funny. EK did better bebop videos nine years ago. The problem here is that you essentially left the scenes completely unaltered. If this was a decade ago, we would probably tell you how amazing this was, but now, the bar is set considerably higher.
Not only were your scene choices way too random (we deserve, as viewers, a story progression, even during rap music) so that they failed to move along as a coherent whole, but the repetitive nature of several of your choices showed a mindset that is far too literal. Just because the song has the same sounds doesn't mean we need to see Jet doing the exact same mouth movement fifty billion times. You had me for the first twenty seconds or so, and as soon you combined unaltered, nonprogressive (story nonprogressive, not video quality nonprogressive) scene choices with repeated footage for lipsynchs I was destined to be completely bored for the rest of the video.
I love retro videos, I really do, and I'm not trying to be mean, or a jerk, but some things change with time because they need to. And this video is so far behind the curve you need to place it beside your Pentium II.

You know, for a moment I thought this thread was made by a spam bot.

kio, you may be confusing aggressively retro with 'less than a decade editing experience'
i am, of course, speculating wildly.

If this was intentionally retro, that would be one thing. I am not sure I would see how that would impact the pleasure I have in watching it, but it would negate plenty of my stylistic comments. If it is intentionally retro, he has but to say so. And I will admit success, even if this would still not be my cup of tea.
