The song being boring is just his opinion. Everyone has their tastes. You cant really change that. I will tell you this though. For a long and slow song, you want to find ways to keep the viewer's attention. This could have been done if you beat synced more and it would've had a lot more of a dramatic effect, especially on the more emotional scenes.Renoo27 wrote:And dude if you can't appreciate the song don't call it "boring". :\SenTrix wrote:Subbed, bad quality, boring song, video stopped while the music carried on, interlacing![]()

First amv?
Believe me when I say that I used to think the same way. My older videos are proof of this.Renoo27 wrote:Oh for... people you're taking amvs way too seriously.
The thing is subtitles are very distracting. I read every subtitle line, even the non-english ones and I dont even know what language those were without actually meaning to. For you, it may not be that distracting because you've seen the footage a lot when editing and can block it out, but for your audience, it is very distracting. If you're not going to work with unsubtitled footage, it's very easy to just crop them out to avoid this distraction.
As for the quality, it may not make that big of difference in a slower video, but it in a faster paced video, quality will make a huge difference because there will be times in a low quality video where because of how short something stays on the screen and how bad quality it is, it will be hard for the viewer to understand what just happened. This has happened to me in the past. Also, good quality just makes your video visually look nicer. With videos coming out in perfect quality and HD, it will just make your video look bad if it's low quality. A lot of people will actually judge whether or not they will watch a video from it's quality, as skilled editors tend to have visually high quality videos. Low quality will cause a viewer to think that it was made by a noob and close it without giving it a chance.
As for taking videos too seriously, this is a community where most of its members are AMV makers. They're going to critique your video, assuming that, since you are also an AMV maker, that you want to become a better editor. I do think that we take AMVs seriously here because most of us make them. We can help you get better if you want to, but if you're just looking for compliments, it would just be sugar coating stuff and that doesn't really do you or anyone else any good.
Anyways. Good luck on future AMVs and welcome to the Org. I really think that if you fix up your quality, you can gain a lot more respect. Better editing will come with practice. While I do think the Top 10% videos may be a little too high of a standard for some people, it will help show you what AMVs and you are capable of.
