Glad you enjoy making AMVs... it's fine to have a personal preference for effects, but it's also important to know what's possible so we don't limit our creativity.

Koopiskeva's "Euphoria" (which is actually the top ranked vid - uh, whatever) - it's a good example of moving away from simple "preset" effects and using the "preset" effects to combine them to create something quite unique - more "home-grown" effects. I believe that all of the top videos would have unusual combinations of effects.

They're fun to watch, and great for ideas. But go at your own pace.
