This is my first time editing in Premiere Pro, since my old editor doesn't work anymore (in Vista). And... I'm having a very hard time getting a good encode.

As for the song cuts, I didn't butcher it. I spent a lot of time trying to work with the song to cut it down to a reasonable length. Also a full 9 minute version? I don't know who would sit through that who's not an Opeth fan. This video lacks? Well, maybe in some areas, but it certainly didn't lack intensity and content. Also, the emotion of Crona and Maka? You didn't catch any of that? There WAS a concept... but maybe you just have to have seen Soul Eater to get it.

Anyways... Chiikaboom your Resonant Discord Soul Eater AMV is amazing, and any praise I get from you on my AMV is undeserving. (although judging by the other opinions here so far, I'm not getting my hopes up)

It was alright, just didn't really care for it and I'm with Kev on the song cut :(

I really disliked it.
It needed a lot of everything. There wasn't nearly enough impact, it moved too slow imo, and the little cookie cutter thing you had going on at 3:36 - 3:52 was a real turn down. Also some of the overlays were used poorly/incorrectly.
But I supposed the internal sync was good.
But anyways 2/5. Sorry =/

Eh. Its ok. Its really either hit or miss with an AMV for me nowadays. Used to be I could whip out an AMV every couple months, sometimes sooner. But ever since I started College I've been gradually doing less and less AMVs. And even when I come out with a really good one (Cowboy Bebop - Breadline) and it makes it into an AMV contest, the audience votes for a crappy one instead. Ah well, that's life. I should really just bust my ass and learn After Affects. Then plan out a really amazing AMV. I am graduating College this year, so I should have more free time.

The reason I made this AMV the way I made it was because I loved the action scenes in Soul Eater (specifically the first episode) and then didn't really know where to go from there, but kinda forced myself to finish it. Also the editing of the song was necessary from the get-go, otherwise this AMV wouldn't have been made at all. Sorry guys. I do love Opeth, and want to make a really meaningful AMV with one of their songs (one where I don't have to cut up the song) but its tough... Oh well. Next time may be better. Breeman will not disappoint a second time.

Also, the next AMVs I plan to make will use Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Gundam 00. And I've already started the Gundam 00 one with the song "Toys" by Frost* but now I'm not sure... we'll see how that goes.

FX=\= good, I get what you're saying, but you're really good at straight editing, this video proves that. The only thing that flat out didn't work was, yup, the effects. (and restricted scene use in the beginning, but that's circumstantial) but the editing itself was really, really nice.

If you compress it and put it on local, I'd put it in my collection.

That wasn't bad at all.
At first I thought the pacing was a little too slow given this kind of song (which I wasn't too fond of for all its worth) but it really picked up in the later half which I thought was pretty impressive. You've got quite a way with internal sync, keep at it.
My only complaints would be the song, and the fact that theres no Kidd in it, but thats a given so those points don't really affect your vid overall :P

4/5

This site needs more SE vids and less EF/5 CM ones :\

Yeah, I'll work on compressing it for a local, I'll also save it at a widescreen resolution rather than have it add the black bars on the top/bottom.

Well damn, I liked this video. Being that its your first time in premiere, I can forgive that short Piano-key effect section...but no more of that please, haha. Besides that part, everything else flowed nicely, what seems to be throwing people off is the beginning, it just doesn't capture you, it takes a little bit to get into it.
