  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Toonami Trailer

Post by ExSphere » Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:49 pm

Allright sooo lil video history on this. I made this bout 6 months ago when toonami went bye bye and I got all sad faced.
It was a lil attempt in me re-creating a Toonami promo.

YES I know it DBZ....which is why i was very hesitant to release this. This video isn't anything special or out of the ordinary. But it's NOT a shity quality, water marked footage, with lame ass radio music.

Just thought I'd get some feed back.

Enjoy

Liked it very much. Good stuff  and nice scene selection, all are very dynamic ones.

ooo, toonami.

/gets

EDIT: Overall I liked it. For the concept, I felt it was a cross between a toonami promo and an amv, leaning more towards the amv side. IIRC, the DBZ promos had a lot more dialog, screaming, and sound from the anime. At times, the promos were driven solely on sound taken from the anime and put together in a way that fueled the energy of them.

When it comes to an amv using DBZ, I honestly dont care much that it's 'unoriginal'. IMO, there has been a boycott (can't think of a better word to describe it) on DBZ videos for almost too long. Honestly, 99.9% of DBZ vids I've seen have been classics. So it's nice to see someone come out with a new one every now and then. I'm also glad to see that some MEPs are starting to allow DBZ to be in them.
