I still LIKED it, but there were hints of the story, but nothing ever came of it. It just sort of... kept going... the ending wasn't an ending. I liked the beginning and middle, it was the ending (or lack thereof) that killed it in my eyes.Kevmaster wrote:wut he saidIngow wrote:you people just can't appreciate a great chillout AMV
I still like it
Suffice to say, I was only pissed that a) the song could have never really ended and thus b) the amv never really ended... for me. I want closure, damnit!

The mood was good enough to give me goosebumps, I don't really mind cliffhanger endings that much, so that wasn't a problem for me. My only qualm is that the pace of the fight sequence in the middle didn't really match the song, still, 4/5 and a keeper.
PS, Thank god you didn't use the version of fight the powah I was thanking of.

Yea I used to go by “N0OB”. And even though you just hang out in announcements, you should’ve heard about the spamming thing; I spammed it there too. Shit was fun.
As for your thoughts on the video I completely agree for the most part, although calling the scene selection “barely coherent” and saying you see a story in the same video is a bit confusing considering scene selection needs to be coherent to even get a story established in the first place.
Feeling nothing from this video wasn’t intentional really but I see where you’re coming from. I didn’t make this to impact the viewer in a big way in the first place, I made it because I liked the song and I thought they worked well together. What I suppose I was trying to establish was generally these brief points:
-Shinji and Rei each wind up in the hospital together.
-Due to past experiences and seeing her before, when she’s about to get into the Eva he decides to man up and take her place, along with all the pain she would have felt were she in his place.
-Scenes of Shinji in pain, etc.
-Ends with Shinji standing up, still ready for more.
It’s not so much a story, but rather a general idea established by a montage of scenes. Doesn’t necessarily need closure, but I can see how some people would want that.
@Ingow-
You good sir win my “gets the video” award, because while this does have hints of a story, it does have decent editing, it’s not about either of those. It’s about just chilling out and enjoying the music with cool flowy visuals.
@Shui-
/b/tards are basically my primary audience with this video, and the people who get where the song came from I think will of course appreciate the video a bit more. Nice to see I hit my target audience perfectly
@mirk-
Glad you liked it
@Code-
I didn’t just SPAM that, I started it ^_^. Glad you enjoyed it as well.
@Vivaldi-
You know, you’re the second person I’ve heard get goose bumps from this video…I don’t know how, but I’ll roll with it.
