Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Stuff like this has been done before, and this ultimately didn't really stand out to me. It was fun, yeah, but it was hard to really get into it because it went all over the place. I know the song does that too, but there wasn't any real connection between one scene and the next to make the video look cohesive, and it failed to really capture me. Still I enjoyed bits and pieces of it - enough to get a 3/5 from me.
I actually agree with most of what you've said. This was an attempt to do something different altogether and, although it is all over the place, my real goal was to just create enough nonsense so that one can keep entertained enough to sit through its entirety. It was something I hadn't tried before and probably won't try again for a long while.

Although the concept was uninspired, I must say that you took an anime whose AMVs have almost universally failed to impress me and kept me interested. Great song/anime combo, and really smooth flow. The scenes just kinda melt into one another and it's a really easy video to just get lost in. Quality was on the poor side, unfortunately, and the nature of the song will keep me from rewatching it much (if ever), but it's still a pretty solid video. 4/5
You defined pretty much what I wanted to do with this video with the comment of the scenes melting together. Ultimately, I wasn't trying to create a story as much as I was trying to create a moving painting. Quality is an issue I've had for a while and am currently working to fix that problem considering I've been working on a video for the better part of the last three years that I refuse to release until it looks crisp.
CrackTheSky wrote:I was a bit disappointed with both because every other video of yours that I've seen shows real creativity and in the case of your comedy videos, wit. Neither of these lives up to what your past videos have made me come to expect, but on their own they're not bad at all.
Keep it up
Thank you for your reviews. Even if the amv's didn't live up to expectations, I feel I have to try new things so that my work doesn't become stale. I don't want to fall victim to repeating the same videos with different footage. Sometimes you have to start something from scratch and see how far you can take it. Some things work, some don't. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not making up excuses. I love negative reviews. You can't keep learning with words like "nice" or "bad". Although much appreciated, if you don't hear what you did wrong, you'll never know what you need to improve on, and footage quality is definitely one of them.

Thanks again for your reviews, and to everyone else who has given me feedback.
