Hello all.

this is the first vid i've posted here on a-m-v.org. i was using you tube before this, but it wasnt exactly the viewing audience i was looking for so i looked around and bumped into this place, which seems like a better place to get honest feedback, on what i've not been able to make a bigger hobby due not to knowing if i'm doing it wrong.

but i digress. This is my seventh produced amv. Featuring Gainax's new anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Laggan. Set to Rise Agianst's "prayer of the refugee."

This show is still airing on Tv in japan so it has a time stamp in the top corner that i couldnt remove. Also in the second half of the video (the clips from episode 3) the disclaimer about "this is a work of fiction" shows too. Addtionally the clips of ep3 are for some reason a tad smaller than the ones from ep1, this is probably my bad><.

below is a explination of process and such, ive placed it in spoiler so if you arent interested you dont have to read it.

When i heard the song on the radio for the first time i thought honestly of simon and kamina and the other humans living on the surface, so i started in on it later that day. Trying to find the episodes i needed and drawing up a basic story board for how i wanted the video to flow.

This amv has been a massive undertaking for me, i had to rencode everything, because Nyoro~n uses .mkv and premiere doesnt know how to read .mkv(as far as i know). An upside though, is that the clips are all relatively clean.

I put the actual video together in two days plus whatever prep time it took to get the clips the right file type and rerip the cd six times to get a near perfect sample. sadly i ran out of song so i had to change up my concept. i was really hoping to have clips for ep 8 and 11 in here but i guess ill do those in a follow up.

im going to say this is the best amv ive done so far. ive come along way from the gainy inuyasha video i did to distrubed's psycho almost two years ago.

also id like to give a big thanks to the development crew for alltoavi. that little encoder did me a hell of good on this project, and to Nyoro~n for bringing this great anime stateside.
