I'm having some serious writers block. I need to do a reaserch paper on the book McTeague, but I can't for the life of me think of anything. I've been looking for ideas all week but can't think of anything and an outline of the paper I'll be writing is due...

*thinks for a second, looks at calendar and counts on fingers to try and remember the exact date*

tomorrow. Any ideas would be helpfull and no, I'm not going to do a google search to look for a prewritten paper.

To steal ideas from one is plagiarism, to steal ideas from many is research.

I don't know what time it is hwere you live, but where I am. I'd need to get a flashlight if I wanted one.

Yes, but not all of use live in the burbs, some of use live in places where walking alone at night may not be the safest thing.

I don't know if that book would be listed, but you can always try www.sparknotes.com and read over their summaries and discussions (if it's listed) to try and get ideas. A lot of their readings differ from the 'generally' accepted ones, so you should be able to find something to argue (write about) if they have that book.

That's a very good method you could try. Keep on writing whatever that come up WITHOUT STOPPING for like 10 min. or so. Then after that look what you have written see if you could classify some of the stuff.

*sigh*...I wish I could have writers block. I always get the opposite, too many ideas, too fast, my stories and papers usually wind up turning into incredibly long, drawn out, complex outlines. And sometimes in extreme cases outlines within outlines within outlines...it's all rather vexing.
