Forever Fornever

Post by Arigatomina » Thu Aug 07, 2003 11:50 pm

Yeah, I'm bored so I figured I'd use this forum for a change and say something about myself (haven't really tried that yet...I wonder why... :roll: ).

Anyway, I finally figured out a production studio name to use. I don't know how many YYH fans are here, but Forever Fornever is the little 'saying' they have at the very end of the series. I used that final clip in my newest vid and realized (since I put my contact information beneath the text) that it looks like a production studio title clip. ^_^ So I made it official. I may even put the japanese audio to that ending scene and use it as a regular 'credit' clip. I'm not sure yet.

Right. I'm just bored, so I figured I'd share. ^_^;

Whatever does forever fornever mean anyway?

(say the person with the rather pathetically named studio)

yes but is fornever a word?
is it some reference I'm supposed to understand?
is it some word combined with forever?
or is it just a weird jap thing that doesn't translate well?

Copying ability. :roll: It's no different from taking a commonly used word and adding productions to it. Take a look at the production list. ^_^

As for Forever Fornever, I look at it like this. For ever - for always, going on. For never - for something that doesn't happen. Never is like an end that isn't reached. I see it as a sort of 'ying yang' thing, a cycling loop. It gives an almost wistfully happy feel to the end of the series (112 episodes isn't long compared to some anime titles, but it's still a good lenght) - and it's sad to see it end. But Forever Fornever makes it feel as if it isn't really over, almost like a whimsical 'eternity' idea. ^_^ At least, that's how I saw it - and why I used it in the vid. And I like the idea of adding that feel to amvs - they do, after all, keep a completed anime from ever really ending - just like fanfiction. ^_^

so, you're trying to say that you're original by telling me you're unoriginal in your originality?

looks like someone needs to learn some people skills.

No, I'm trying to say that using something that already exists is common - unoriginal, yes, it is. But the way you use it determines the true originality, not the thing being used. ^_^ For instance, Pocky is a common word, Pocky Productions sounds like a common studio - but if there's a correlation between that title and the amvs made under that title, then the originality gets a boost according to how it's used.

But I'm not original here, and I wasn't trying to say I was. I just pointed out that I'm not alone, and if you want to attack someone for not having a Pork sausage Productions (more original, right?) title - you're going to have a lot of people to make fun of. ^_^; That's all.
