Back in Business... AMV season is coming?
Is there such a thing as AMV sessions?
I would tend to think so.. They ramp up mostly in the summer months
it seems all the older editors climb out from a mountain of work
and try to make something by con session. I don't know what
do you guys think?

Do you mean seasons?
Session may not be totally wrong, but it sounds more like a jamming session where AMV creators come around in some crowded bar and do improvised editing
Anyway, yeah, I do feel that around the VCA time, there really aren't too many big projects being released. I know I deliberately try not to release anything too big during this time as I feel that things released this time of the year tend to be forgotten much more quickly (just my general impression, definitely not stating a fact here).
I say it'll be more towards the second half of the year that we really see the more exciting things.

Well, I only really edit in the Winter/Spring and release at cons in the Spring/Summer, so for me it's a definite yes.

I release whenever I finish my video. If it's good enough, it'll be remembered. And if not, so what?

So what? How can you be a celeb around the org and worshiped by all the noobs and rake in awards if you don't play the system? Why releasing when you're finishing and not worrying about popularity or cons or anything, that's downright sick. Get off the org, you clearly don't fit in here.CrackTheSky wrote:I release whenever I finish my video. If it's good enough, it'll be remembered. And if not, so what?

I think there's a distinct difference between celebrity/vanity and simple recognition. I wouldn't go on too much of a hyperbole here.godix wrote:So what? On the other hand, it's a bit facetious to pretend not to want recognition. I think we all do, whether we say we do or not.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Why does it have to be that extreme? If I make a video that I'm proud of, then I'd want people to see it. There's nothing wrong with desiring a little bit of recognition for your efforts. Who says it has to go as far as seeking "noob worship" and extreme popularity, trolling for awards, or gaming the system?godix wrote:So what? Indeed. And as long as you're not pissing on others or making yourself unhappy in the process, there is nothing wrong with that. Nothing.Otohiko wrote:On the other hand, it's a bit facetious to pretend not to want recognition. I think we all do, whether we say we do or not.
