Short - Well made and good Animes?

Post by Hinatasan » Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:39 am

I'm searching trough magazines and the internet some animes for see them and try to see if they would work for some amv concepts of mine, I'm anyway searching nothing like Animes with 200+ Episodes, I would prefer nothing that would go off the 30. Do you have any opinion or any idea about this? ^^

It's a little hard to suggest something without knowing anything about your ideas.

Your question is a little bit unspecific, especially what means well made? Well drawn? Good plot? I propose some I'd enjoyed.

My most favourite show - Noir, 26 episodes. To enjoy it, it needs your participation. There is many left blank which you have to fill with your own fantasy. But it can really catch you. And be warned. Don't watch more than 2 episodes per day, especially from the last ones. It can traumatize you.

Horror action - Hellsing, 13 episodes.
Agent action - Najica Blitztactics, 13 episodes. Has an incredible amount of fanservice, but is good despite.
End of the world fantasy - Earthmaid Arjuna, 13 episodes.

Nadesco was a funny Mechanime
The dragonball series was a good series, really short too
the 4 inuyasha movies were great weather you've seen the show or not
barney and friends was pretty good too
First they came for Evanecese, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for Creed, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for the Seether, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Sorry I was not clear >,< I'm talking about well drawn animes, with some action, even if Noir is something always scared me but I want to give it a try (Examples: Abenobashi, FullMetal Alchemist, FCLC, My-Hime - Opposite examples, to evade - DragonBall o.o, Inuyasha o.o even if it is almost good). Thanks for the replys ^^

Personally, when it comes to making AMVs I consider anything 13 episodes and down to be "short", but not anything longer. If you're looking for short, well-drawn anime with some action then Macross Plus and Rurouni Kenshin: the Remembrance are your best bets short of a good movie. Not too original, though.

It's hard to tell where the stupidity finishes and the sarcasm begins.

start at dragonball being a really short series and work from there...

anywho, as far as well drawn, short animes go i'd have to reccomend:

FLCL - 6 eps (but 3 DVDs)
Haibane Renmei - 13 eps
Appleseed - 1 movie
Puni Puni Poemy - 1 movie
Read or Die - the OVA's

By FAR Macross Zero is what you want... though it hasn't been dubbed or even licensed yet...

Last Exile has beautiful art, as does many of Gonzo's newer animes. It's quite short- only 12 episodes.

Samurai Champloo also has very good animation. Especially episode 14. Samurai champloo has 26 episodes.

But try not to base your AMV on graphics. Some older series can be made into amazing emotional AMV's. But... if you want to get on the top 10... animation quality matters more than depth.

Thanks a lot for all your answers! :P I'm by far been conquered by Macross, not as anime since I didn't saw it but as Idea as I read the story on a Site. I'll check it out.^^

Thanks to all for all the tips! :D
