AMV Working Conditions
Last night, I was 'accidentally' towel-whipped in my left eye by my sister's friend. It was with a damp towel end, mind you. Guess what? Right after that, I was planning on doing some editing and online reading. I'm having trouble typing this up as it is.
Now why the Hell would I want to edit with one eye?
This got me thinking: what kind of 'conditions' do you edit under? Do you have siblings that make it so you can't hear yourself think let alone the audio? Do you have someone that constantly needs the computer and you have to give it up? Do you have a health condition that makes editing a pain in the ass?
I also have an eyelash or something stuck way up under my eyelid and I can't get it out. Now I'm sitting here laughing like I'm insane because the world's about to end and I can only sit back and watch. Pathetic, huh?

I'm currently staying at my parents right now, coming home for the summer and I have a younger sister. Everytime I sit down to edit all I hear is "Gonna blast my hommies till they die mothafuckas" and all that garbage making it very hard to concentrate on anything. Especially when the volume is high enough to make your head explode, which I wouldn't mind if the music didn't suck.

I do a lot of editing on a laptop, which pretty much means "where other people are not."
I find siblings really helpful: My bother is a casual AMV watcher (meaning he watches what I download) and he has been a AMAZING beta tester. He will actually watch me sometimes when I edit (I'm in "tweak" mode right now so I don't mind) and point out problem areas, ask questions and even make suggestions, a number of which came out really nicely. He'll probly start editing himself one of these days.
Only problem I have editing when I'm at home, where my 5 person family shares a computer, is people leaving things open and slowing everything down.

The only distraction I have to deal with is a haughty cat (who is not my own, but I've been suckered into watching for five years) that demands attention the instant I sit down at the computer and runs away when I get up to pay attention to her. Typically neko.
The up side is she gives me useful feedback on my vids.

To paraphrase one Mr. Cool James, please refrain from referring to it as a revival, I've been lurking for ages.
