Opinion Responses
I got an opinion recently where the opinionee said "I'm glad to see a response, good to see the editors taking an active part" or something like that, but it was all because I responded to his op so I began thinking do editors not answer all the ops their given? I answer all the ones I get because I appricate the time the viewer has taken to write the op.
As editors do you answer ops or just leave them there to show?

I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

Now this is one of my biggest gripes about leaving opinions. I spend all of my time watching a video and writing a review for it and hardly anyone responds to my review. At the moment I have written 32 opinions and I have only received 5 responses back. Now what's that, 1 in 5? Now that is shocking. With all of these banners and stuff around here saying "Please be kind, leave an opinion", the least I expect is a small response from the creator like "Thanks for the review". With all of the people here saying that there should be more people leaving opinions, maybe if the creator thanked the reviewers more then you would get more reviews... Even if it is just a few words.

Rurouni, I agree. Even if it's only a small op, it deserves acknowledgement that the creator did read it.
Anyway, I've responded to every op anyone's given me except one because he posted our whole AIM chat as the op. -_-
Oh you do, do you? Is that why you still haven't responded to the 1600 word op I gave Imagine 3 months ago?Beowulf wrote:I use to not respond to everything but now I do since MJ never stopped giving me shit about it.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I try to respond to any opinion that happens to come my way; usually not doing so is because I'm not in the mood or have things to do.

I always respond, even if it's just "thanks" and a reply to whatever else they said - how long it is depends on how long the review was, just because long reviews give me something to talk about.
It all depends on your attitude as a creator... if you think your "audience" is here to serve you and you're superior to them, then you wouldn't stoop to addressing them unless they're important enough for you. But if you think you're a fan just like them and appreciate the time they put in to watching and reviewing... you answer.
Pretty simple.

This is stupid and over-simplified generalization.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel when someone doesn't say anything, it's like they've said "Yay another opinion to get me closer to lookin' great, no need to answer."SarahtheBoring wrote:It all depends on your attitude as a creator... if you think your "audience" is here to serve you and you're superior to them, then you wouldn't stoop to addressing them unless they're important enough for you.
