Any suggestions for a newb?
Hey there guys, its my first post, but I've been around AMV about 6 months now... Really this is open to all opinions, and I'm sure there are many threads like this, but does anyone have any good suggestions??
I like a wide range of anime... And I've discovered that for some of the best anime, there is the worst music videos... And also, I tend to like the videos of other animes better... for example... I'm not a big Dragonball fan, but I enjoy a nicely done one... Besides that I enjoy Cowboy Bebop a lot, Trigun (althhough not many good Vids are out there), NGE, Eskaflone, Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin), Yu Yu Hakeshoe, etc. So any help would be great....
That or just post your perosnal favorites...

You're the second person to murder the spelling of Escaflowne that I've read in the past 5 minutes.
But as far as AMV suggestions, this is why the Top Star Scale, the Top 10%, the Top Favorite Videos, etc exist. They're on the Members page, on the right side, and they exist so newbies don't have to post stupid threads to General AMV asking for recommendations =)

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

but, otherwise, to be a bit friendly at least - here

this is the newbie's friend, as I can attest, and most of the vids in there are well worth your time, even if it's arguable whether all of them are uber-greatest-evah.

It's not funny, it's sad. >.< That's the way it sounds in the English Dub, you can't blame someone for 'sounding it out' if they've never seen it in Japanese.J-0080 wrote:Personally dokool I found this mispell much more amusing.WiteBuddha wrote:Yu Yu Hakeshoe
Wite, it's Yu Yu Hakusho. ^.~
As for recs, it would be a lot easier if there were a filter-by-anime in the top lists, but you can always use the 'Search vids' and 'super search' options to find vids for the anime you want. Usually you can just skim through and grab the ones with good reviews (if they have quite a few, it's likely the vid isn't too bad). I'll give you some by-anime recs, but only for more recent vids - the older ones are pretty set on the top lists.
DBZ - the good old ones should still be on the top 10% list. Newer ones -
DBZ_Doomrider
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=28412
LightningCountX (especially his last dbz vid - good quality)
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=77277
Mindbug (the Go-Fortuna vid)
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=81210
And my last few dbz vids have pretty good quality - I'd rec this one as being different:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=26039
Cowboy Bebop (I don't watch these much, so I don't know of many)
Bebop0083 (he also has dbz and yyh vids)
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=47841
YYH (my favorite anime)
Castor Troy (he also has dbz vids, but 'Haunted Ship' is a must-see for YYH fans)
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... ser_id=140
Tash:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=56685
Yu5ukeUramesh1 (the new ones are good quality action vids)
http://animemusicvideos.org/members/mem ... r_id=76634
Cleo3930
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=43510
And I have a lot of them, the newer ones are 'okay' - I'd rec Sufferance to Hiei fans:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=26304
As for the other anime, LCX has some good Samurai X vids (very angsty ova vids), there are lots of NGE vids - I'd rec Flint's:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=21484
For Escaflowne I'd say stick with the top 10 and nab Dwchang's 'Glory of Love' vid:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... r_id=25927
Um...yeah, I'll leave it at that. ^_^;

Yeah, it *did* sound more like hawking a loogie or something. I'm not sure where the shoe comes from (or the e for that matter). But maybe he heard the Phillipine version or something. Benefit of the doubt?J-0080 wrote:In the dub it sounded like You You Hawk-a-show to me, nothing resembeling shoe.
And that picture is just wrong, on so many levels. ^_^;;
